Do you have a working internet connection on that machine? IT will be trying to pull down the debian install files. Press "Alt-F4" to see the logging console output. |

Version 2 of AmiDeb has now been uploaded to the site, that fixes a couple of install issues. The EFI boot files have been left on the install ISO, but *NOT* tested as I don't own a UEFI system.

@vk3heg
Great job! Any likelihood of an x86 version of AmiDeb, as you have with Amilator? Fred |

Beta Version for i386. NOTE: I have *Not* done any testing yet, & this is only the ISO file. https://amiga.vk3heg.net/?page_id=239 I just adjusted the build scrip to pull down the i386 files. Last edited by vk3heg; 01 February 2023 at 11:03. |

Guys, Please note; There are issues with the FS-UAE repo. This will result in any install attempts to fail and the system won't be in a workable state.
If you haven't done an install then hold off for now. If you have a working setup, then it wont be able to update due to the error. This is all up to Frode to fix. Last edited by vk3heg; 14 February 2023 at 00:53. |

64Bit UEFI/USB Boot beta version of AmiDeb
https://amiga.vk3heg.net/?page_id=239 This beta is using the 3.2 version of FS-UAE due to issues with the Repo. Fs-uae-launcher isn't included. Last edited by vk3heg; 17 February 2023 at 13:44. |

This image installs correctly on Dell Optiplex 9020 Thin Client in either UEFI/Legacy mode of that machine's bios. That said, there is no sound - Openal warning of can't open audio device.... ...I shelled in over ssh (noticing passwordless sudo implemented, TY), and all the sound modules are loaded ~ the issue is, the HDMI audio passthru is enumerating as audio dev:0 but the default audio device is at dev:1 ...(I wonder how debian work around this, and I don't have this issue in $LFS)... I also noticed AmiDeb flipping console modes multiple times ~ this'll be due to the optiplex 9020 initializing 3 dri devices, and it enumerates the DP ports first (dri:0, dri:1), and then the VGA port as dri:2.. edit: there are many different specs of Optiplex 9020 ~ if yours only has 1 VGA video output, it'll probably work fine =) Last edited by giantclam; 19 February 2023 at 14:05. |

Hello! I installed AmiDeb and now I'm struggling with simple things as a weak linux user.
What is the most elegant or easiest way to copy my existing Amiga1200.hdf to \Hard Drives and kickstarts to \Kickstarts at Amiga partition under AmiDeb? |

So from a windows machine in explorer: ie: (64bit version) \\192.168.1.68\amiga or \\AmiDeb-X64\amiga username: amiga password: amiga That will give you access to all of the fs-uae related directory's etc. |

Thank you people for those replies ... ...it's super easy and Amigas are working fine!
Related (maybe?!) to that audio problem mentioned before - on my desktop PC, Audio is on analog audio output and not over HDMI - but that is far from being much of a issue for me. Hope to see more from your AmiDeb work in the future -> vk3heg ... |

Beta2 for UEFI/BIOS 64bit systems has now been uploaded to the website.
A couple of install issues fixed, and back to now using the FS-Uae repo since the pgp key has been updated/fixed. As always feedback welcome. |

Appreciate this project!
What precisely am I supposed to put in the Device spot to get wireless to work? It would be nice if it remembered the settings from install. Also, I have the sound issue of it choosing the built-in video as the default sound card, and as a laptop with a broken esc key, I can't change it. Will have to dig out a keyboard for that. |

The sound issue is fixed through the asound.conf default settings. Thanks again for this project. |

The debian installer is the one with the wifi issue. It's not a AmiDeb issue, but a Debian one. Option 8 from the utilities menu runs "nmtui" to allow configuring the network/wifi. |

The installer will most likely stop at preseed 13% if you don't use english settings. If i choose german settings, since i'm living in Germany, it will always stop when the installer asks to remove libaspell (J/N) ... |

Thanks for that.. I have now set the installer to only use English. When I get some time in the new year I'll look at the issue in more detail. |
