Note that Bobby's hair is brown, the colour of bowelmovement, thusly proving my theory that Robert Reed used Mike Lookinland, the actor that played Bobby, as an enema\rectal brush.

I remember thinking about giving my computer a name when I was a kid.
The look on my brother's face made me stop. |

Well, here in Austria many people just call the C64 'The Commodore', whereas the Amiga simply is the Amiga. Some even never realised that the Amiga was made by Commodore, too....
And I think some Germans call their C64 'Cevi', which is an abbreviation for '64' in German. And, at last, a PC is called a 'PeeCee'. |

The name I call my PC very frequently is "Pissy"
It's fun since whenever I talk to someone and I say "I'll try it out on my Pissy when I get home" they stare at me confused as hell |

@ Twistin'Ghost
here in Brazil nearly everybody does this stupidity. CLI was "clee" for most people, as DOS is called "dohs" (my own "PC architeture" teacher calls DOS "dohs") @Akira you're probably right, I never payed too much attention to those TKs computers ![]() There was also the TRS-Color, that I believe to be an Apple II clone produced here... |

Hey...America (and New York, in particular) has been entertaining a new, improved image for the last month. Don't go and louse it up by reminding us of Judge Judy. Hopefully, you only saw the show while you were in the US. Otherwise, that means they are actually exporting this toxic waste outside of the US. Which serves y'all right if you're watching it.
Just remember: we Americans can be as snide, pompous, curt and snobbish as out European friends. We're only courteous when we are because we feel sorry for the other gits... [am I asking for it, or what?] |

The good thing about us is that we can allow you to use not only our language but also slang terms like "gits". (- snobbish)
Have you got that? (- curt) I won't be surprised if you don't understand (- pompous AND snide) I think that's all the aspects of our character covered. No wait, you missed out "cool-as-fuck-without-really-trying". ![]() Now, let's look a bit closer at what you have done with the language and cultures that we gave you to put in that great big melting pot... Friends Happy Days MC Hammer Vanilla Ice Yeee Haaaa! ![]() |

Wel, you can mention Cole Porter.
Or Mark Twain. Or Woody Allen. Or Will Rogers. But you seem to dwell on our negative aspects, Birdy. And you know what? I cannot blame you, because the subhuman scum that control America's media seem to shove nothing but garbage down the throats of Americans and the world. Oh yeah, what ever happened to the Spice Girls? ![]() |

LOL! Yes, we are all victims of the mess created by our governments, our media, and perhaps most damaging of all, the entertainment industry. Europeans have also served up Neighbours on the tube and Slade on the jukebox (sorry for that one, Birdy...). And you can't blame Gary Glitter on the US, either!
America is more of the melting pot you describe, only it's more than ruffage. For every MC Hammer, we have a Lenny Kravitz. For every Vanilla Ice, we have a Todd Rundgren. For every Friends we have a...erm, uh...well The Sopranos is getting rave reviews! And for every Happy Days, there is a Brady Bunch. Or Leave It To Beaver. Or Gilligan's Island. So you see, there is culture after all. |
