Found this thread and the book.
And wow ! Still curious, did one manage to get an English translation going? I would buy the book if there was. Been collecting books on Amiga Assembly for over a year now picking up where i left of as a kid trying to code This book would be a nice addition |

I'm pretty excited to write that, but yes, it can works! [cit.]
In the past days we kept a low profile in order to gather all the informations that we need to start the translation and get the whole thing done. We want to do it in the best way we can, so doing it "the google translate way" is not an option. We searched for someone that can do it in a professional way without busting our bank and with some technical background in order to minimize review time and obviously translation mistakes. This of course has a price that we cannot afford by ourselves: in the end the book is more than 400 pages long. The solution of the problem is for us starting a Kickstarter campaign if the number of interested people is able to support the translation expense. These are our planned pledge list starting for the cheaper to the most expensive (they can change before the campaign start of course):
Now the limited ones:
I think that the peldge list is pretty gorgeous :P Of course without people supporting, the campaign will miserably fail In the next days we would like to know what do you think of this initiative, and if you can be interested in supporting us. The more people will support it the cheaper the book will be! So please give us feedbacks on what I wrote and spread the word as much as you can! |

If you put this on Kickstarter I promise this will be the first Kickstarter project I have ever funded. How much were you thinking of charging for just the printed book?

It depends highly on how many feedbacks we will receive on this weeks before the campaign will start. We need to cover the translation fee so the more the interest, the less it will weight. I think that we can position it on something around 25€.

This may sound like a stupid question, but will the book be 400 pages? 25 euro for a 400 page book sounds like a bargain.

Yes, the book will be 400 pages (the italian version is about 400 pages, so we expect the english version will be around that number).
We will try to get a price as near as possible to 25€ (shipping costs excluded of course). This depends on how much interest will be expressed in the next days. First of all we need to cover fixed translation costs (so we need a minimum amount of books to be sold) an if we manage to gather enough interest than we will fix a price that is 25€, little more otherwise. Our sleepless nights editing and doing all other things will not be accounted in the book price :P We did the same thing for the italian version, we are planning to do the same with the international one |

For 25€ you can't expect too much, but consider getting an editor for the project. You can't change a printed book afterwards, and I see some room for improvement in the Italian original.

With recent developments such as announcing the intention to make a kickstarter campaign if enough interest is expressed, maybe it would be a good idea if one of the people behind this project makes a new thread about this in one of the top categories to recieve more attention, say "Amiga Scene" for example. I imagine that will attract the attention of a few more potential backers.

If this came up as a kickstarter I'd pledge.
