I remember using an Amiga to copy "Starglider" for the ST. And as the ST and PC use the same disk format (though the ST could read more than just 9 sectors) there shouldn't be a problem.
This is by the by, but it might interest a few info-nerds - Acorn's DFS (disk filing system) was designed by Rob Northen - The guy responsible for some of the most advanced disk protection on ST and Amiga. Kick Off 2 was a classic example of how to use encryption - the whole boot system was heavily encrypted, then the resulting files were encrypted and then there were about 15 checksums embedded in the game code! I still remember the key - de534692 - !!! That's how much time I spent on that bastard! But I sent out a version which wasn't complete and began to get the nickname "Bomb Hack" (which is almost amusing if you've ever seen an ST crash) :; I used to speak to the guy, and told him a few times how to improve the protection, but he never even thanked me |
