I'm using the newest WinUAE, Quickstart A500. Works flawless.

[edit] DOH I was too quick ('n dirty) and completely missed the part of Tony's post when he stated that! Galahad: again, this is for having a toy for you guys to play around with, i. e. for TEST ONLY. If you are really going to make a "proper" version come reality, forget about mine, pretending it had never existed! BTW...you may want to take a look into what happens when you FINISHED a level. I did, the car turned sideways by 90 degrees, but the game apparently froze...("sound loop") ESC worked but resulted in a trip to India i. e. a guru... @all: Has anyone managed to get rid of the initial sound distortion at the beginning? Hi Tony,
Can you make a raw dump of this using our tool? Thanks. |

Its a demo, so the code for the game isn't 100% sorted hence the sound distortion. All the things you have listed with it crashing are what it does as its a demo evaluation. Its not very good hence why no-one took it on. Frankly, the Lotus Series are the technical benchmark for this style of game on Amiga, and frankly they haven't got anywhere near Magnetic Fields. |

But as soon as I will go I will send it to you. I might have some originals you could be interested in if it's not too hard to make a raw dump. Last edited by Tony Landais; 30 December 2006 at 09:39. |

Interesting...
Thalamus were working on Q8 Team Ford Rally Simulator - was their first licenced game and was due for release in 1990, however it never appeared on the Amiga (although I think a C64 version was released). The game looks quite different though (see preview in TGM31) |

THALAMUS!!
That rings a bell, Galaxy! After using MFM2WWarp on the MFM raw dump, WWarp too recognized the format of some of the tracks as 'thalamus' when it analyzed sync and mask of the *.wwp file! This is even more interesting, isn't it? |

As Tony mentioned in one of his first posts in this thread, the developers (SoftEyes) also made another game that was released by Thalamas (a truly awful shootemup called 'Venom Wing' when it was released). Sounds to me like the superfast lovely vector driving game they (Thalamus) were planning never materialised, and SoftEyes were probably contacted to provide a replacement game?

I tried the ADF of this game and I was really suprised how good driving game this would have been! It seems to be some kind of Lotus 2 rip-off but the graphics are good and the playability is great too! I like the idea of accelerating with the button and changing gears up and down via joystick. I mean there's only few good view-behind racing games for Amiga so its nice to play game like this.

@Graham
In the Zone. Like Galahad, I don't think it's as good as the Lotus Turbo games. It could have been something, though, if it had lived up to the few magazine previews that appeared initially: ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/si...ine3100008.jpg Anyway, have fun with the demo..... |

Extended ADF's are impossible to convert 880k ADFs, aren't they?

I just saw this thread and quickly cracked the game so you can try it on your real Amigas now. I've uploaded it to the zone, source is included in the archive. I didn't bother to fix any bugs in the game, I only "fixed" the menu, it is not possible to select any level other than 1-4 in the menu anymore.
