No you don't.

BUT there is not only one "Quickstart A500". It is supposed to always go in combination with the "Compatibility" slider.
So it matters whether you set the slider to Low, Normal or Best Compatibility! "Best" has always CE on.

HANG ON.

Which slider? Do you mean the "Compatibility" slider or the "CPU-Chipset" one?
PLEASE: WinUAE comes with many sliders. Always tell which slider (that plead goes to everyone, not just you). "The slider" could stand for at least 5 I can think of off the top of my head.

Thanks, so that IS the compatibility slider!
Slider to the left means "Best compatibility" which may as well be over the top for a couple of games!
"Best Compatibility" always has cycle-exact enabled, which would definitely be OVERKILL for run-of-the-mill games like e. g. Encounter (Backlash), Fred or Sherman M4 (this reads: no complex parallax scrolling, no extra-smooth scrolling as in Odyssey, no hi-res mode as in Lionheart etc.)

Maybe your problem already gets solved if you put the slider one to the right, i. e. not quite Best Compatibility.

Ah and about Ironclaw's posts: Hardly anyone understands these, let alone the context. Just live with it.
