Double click on game exe. You have to find it first. It could be named breathless(.exe) or whatever but should be recocnisable. Also its not impossible that exe already has an icon. That means that in that case it should be visible somewhere beside whdload slave file even before you click show all files.

Found what I think is the exe. It was in a folder called Game within the WHD load folder of breathlessaga060. Tried to run but nothing happened for me.

Dunno.. Do you really have 060?
Next thing I would do is run snoopdos.. But you can always download breathless adfs and install it with its native installer that must be on adfs. |

Ok made progress. So I could not get that Breathless exe to work. So I use the adf's, made disks with them and completed the install for real. Did Joy2key2 and configured buttons to work as I would want. All good! However performance was a bit shit. Soooooooo I then realised I was using non 060 version. So when I looked at the WHDload game file it was pretty much the same as the HD install I made except the breathless exe nad no icon. So from the HD Install I took the icon from this and copied into the WHDload game folder. The game then opened great! But now I am screwed as password protection exists now and I can't get round that. Just for the hell of it I swapped the HD Install exe out with the exe from WHDload game file as it is the AGA060 version and as you would expect it was the exact same results. Game opens the 060 version but I get stuck at password protection now. Happy that Joy2Key2 though will work. Just need some way of changing the exe to avoid the password protection. Thanks for your help Coby. |

Sounds like you stumbled on noncracked adfs.. Are you sure that if you enter whatever as password you cant continue?
By copying icon from wb you copy exe too. So you overwrite exe that was there. You can copy just icon from dos or dopus. Its named .info But that shouldnt change anything except if icon has some tooltypes which I doubt. Again you can check that from wb menu, something like icon info, I forgot.. |

No the initial adf's I used worked. They were cracked. But I noticed it was really jerky compared with the 060 version v1.1. So that's when I started swapping the exe's about and although they worked it left me with copy protection issue. Last night I had a good old play as someone had tried to make a sheet with all the codes. Not all are on it but the one I needed was so I was able to play Breathless and SIDE STEP using the playstation controller I use with cd32 mapped buttons. Quote:
Actually what I did was this: HD install which worked - went into dopus, renamed the original exe breathless.old and left the breathless.info. Then went to WHDload>game>breathless and copied this to the HD install folder. This way it opened with the original HD install icon. Then later for an experiment, I went to whdLoad>game> and copied the HD install breathless.info file into this drawer. Essentially I did the same thing as above only the other way around so naturally the game opened but the copy protection was there. So I think something in the other WHDload files are able to bypass the protection. I have also read somewhere online there is a way to modify with a hex editor to remove the protection from the v1.1 (060) version. I would never know how to do this though, it's beyond my remit |

Been enjoying this a lot, but it has to be said it still runs pretty jerky even with 060 at 100mhz. If I reduce pixels to 2 x 1 it's insanely smooth but looks like shit then. Apparently a 030 will run it better, well from what I ready anyways.
