Twenty...

I'm DETERMINED to win it now. I played it again last night and...died on the SECOND FRICKEN STAGE of the FIRST LEVEL! BAH!

I'd like to actually see a recording of someone winning though...I'm somewhat sceptical

I was the master of International Karate +...

Im not sure why your not able to get very far in Gods, but i finished it a few times back then and the game in my opinion just wasnt all that hard. I mean it was difficult in some places, but easily finishable.

Finished Gods without cheating?! Are you insinuating that we all are cheaters? Not me, oh no... why? I had a little tantrum all those years ago with this game when I got killed for the umpteenth time which resulted in the Gods disk being, erm, dismantled and the floppy inside used as target on my dart board. Well, one good thing came out of it, it improved my aim at the bullseye.

Cheat? Didn't get the opportunity.

I LOVE GODS !

By the way the ENERGY megatrainer is one of the biggest megatrainers I`ve ever seen. I can`t remember how many ++++++++++++ it has.

If I remember rigt there is also a +52 megatrainer of XENON 2.

I have reached the 3rd world on my 386sx pc back on the days, and it run crappier than the amiga version... it is a difficult game that you need to practise to advance, like the Turrican series...
and btw, why does it have such crappy scrolling??? it sux but the game is good

Gods was originally made for AtariST, then the Bitmaps would do a conversion for Amiga. Unfortunately this meant that some Bitmap Brothers games would never use the amiga capabilities to the full. The scrolling is slow and some only use 16 colours, they only look so great because, well, it was the bitmap brothers.

I think Chaos Engine was the first one to be Amiga only (and 1meg amigas only)

Gods sucked,

I am not sure wich got ripped off first... was it Robbin hood or Gods that came first, both are bad and seemingly identical!

Turrican was far superior as was shadow of the beast (albiet i wasnt overly impressed with either)

I think i kinda got burned out on platformers from the manic minor days.... I even remember the cheat code for in game level skipping and poke for infinite lives (sad i know)

It wasn`t untill Shadow of the Beast 2 and Turrican 2 and finally Superfrog came out that i was back into the home computer platformers...

( played a lot of Ghost 'n Gouls, wonderboy shinobii and Altered Beast in the arcades *not gonna mention the Millions of pounds spent on R-TYPE* )

Other than a nifty intro music Gods sucked, just a cheap instant thrill, by level two i think i fell asleep... I had more fun with RICK Dangerious (that was a game!) infact i am sure some of them levels looked similar!!!! and does anyone remeber Hero on the 64.. lost a lot of youth there!!!!

I'm sure it's quite impossible actually. The bosses are just...ridiculous.

Yes.
I completed it several times.
Also first time ever playing the SNES version.

ONCE IN LEVEL 2.

EXACTLY ONCE.

The game is *god(s)awfully* tough. Yes, it was on a real A500 and I *reckon* the nasty copy protection thing was not the reason why I only got that far. (It was not the EP crack)

spiff hit the nail on the head. It's the enemies which simply appear out of the blue. If you haven't played it to death and know the positions by heart, you will die real soon as if you directly run into them, your energy will decrease faster than you can say Jack Robinson.

True, I have to agree to that. It takes practice, and guess what? You don't want to complete a game the day you bought it!

I still can't complete Turrican 2 without cheats, it's just to frickin hard Same goes for Zool 2, Tearaway Thomas, SOTB trilogy, Apidya, Project-X, Agony, Wrath of the Demon, Lionheart, Ghost Battle, Jim Power, Myth and on and on and on... It all takes practice. The only way you are going to get the practice is when you stop looking for the obvious faults in these games and just enjoy getting that bit farther when you play.

Why else insert another coin?
