Then try to search something related to Amiga via Google, I can see amiga.org or lemon or other pages results, but no EAB.

If the discussions went like that I might actually read them.

I've tried https://www.morphic.sh/ a free alternative to perplexity, and it easily finds relevant eab threads. Seems to be a nice tool

Unfortunately it's still not working. I just asked it if there are any interesting discussions happening right now in the EAB forum and it told me this:
"I wasn't able to access the English Amiga Board (EAB) directly due to restrictions on the site. However, if you're looking for interesting discussions or the latest news on EAB, you might want to check it out directly or consider visiting similar Amiga community forums such as Amiga.org or Lemon Amiga for related discussions and updates." |

Since ChatGPT uses Bing for web searching you might need to enable Bing in robots.txt. Shouldn't be too demanding to allow Bing in, since nobody uses Bing anyway

The odd thing is, during the google purge I had to go over bing and it did gave me a lot of search results, and it still gives, it would make sense, but it might not be that

Chatgpt (and any similar LLM), on any technical subject, is a pile of shit. Literally. It is nothing but all the shit that could be scraped from all available sources without regard to correctness or copyright, manipulated until it sounds plausible and then packaged up into a form most seductive to VCs who are currently wetting themselves in excitement at all the cash to be grabbed.
I don't see any point in using a forum that mixes LLM vomit in with comment from real people. |

So I guess it is doing something right after all (and it was only the free, outdated peasant version). |

It's only "correct" by chance - which makes it just as bad for technical topics, since it will give you a wrong-but-right-sounding answer* just as authoritatively as a right one; it cannot do otherwise, since it doesn't actually know anything. And so technical forums have gotten spammed with piles of threads on the "I asked ELIZA about this and here's what she regurgitated, can you tell me if this is anything approximating boring fleshbrain notions of 'correct' so I don't have to go to the effort of determining that myself?" model ever since this fad started...
* (Or a coincidentally-correct-but-stupid one! This is a good example; anybody with a basic knowledge of 6502 programming can see why it's ludicrously inefficient, but ELIZA has absolutely no idea...) |

just tried again with the newly released GPT-4o model just in case it somehow would help (I knew it wouldn't but im as hopeful as I am delusional).
Its response was " It looks like accessing current discussions directly from the English Amiga Board (EAB) is proving difficult due to restrictions on the site. However, you can visit the EAB website and check out the latest threads and discussions by navigating to the relevant sections, such as the "Amiga scene" or "Support" forums. For a quick overview, here are some popular topics that are often discussed on EAB: Amiga Hardware Issues and Modifications: Users frequently discuss troubleshooting and upgrading Amiga hardware. Software and Game Development: There are threads about ongoing and new software or game projects for the Amiga. Retro Events and Gatherings: Discussions about upcoming Amiga-related events, such as AmiCamp. Nostalgia and Memories: Members share their experiences and memories with Amiga computers. If you're looking for specific threads or topics, I recommend visiting the EAB homepage and exploring from there." |
