Sword don't decide about it, I think. And ninjas rarely use swords. He's just american point of view for an assian type of worrior

I think you're right. So his fighting style is just undefined. I have a feeling he's the best character in FF2, though (while Guy is the best in FF3 - followed by Haggar).

Yep, Guy is pretty decent. They pull some quite cheap tricks in this one to raise the difficulty. Not as much fun as 2.

Guy is definitely the most fun to play as in FF3. Cheaper tricks? Dunno - I find the CPU in both games pretty annoying...

Well in FF2 they at least not run around like headless chicken all the time They also increased the number of running attacks and 'combo hits' in FF3. Have I mentioned that I prefer SoR yet?

Yes, FF3 is a lot faster. Felt like a walk in the park when I returned to FF2. But it wasn't - didn't get much further:
(So many SF-characters in FF2&3: Guy, Maki, Rolento, Chun-Li, Hugo (Andore) - and Zangief is based on Haggar) Final Fight 2: 1,350,400 Final Fight 3: 1,158,000 Total: 2,508,400 Last edited by john4p; 21 November 2009 at 19:02. |

Damn, I've beaten Stray on my 1.158M-run (lost 4 lives against him though). Must've missed something in level 3 (should probably enter the car-store). Nice score.

Well, the fight wasn't impressive - just walk away, attack with jump-kick, walk away, attack with jump kick, rinse and repeat (okay, there were a couple of situations where I needed the desperation attack, too). Doesn't do much damage, but the clown doesn't have much health...
How did you manage to get 1.5M without defeating Rolent? That's impressive... Unlike FF3 I didn't note any hidden routes in FF2 and I always have about 1.35M when I reach him. |

That's the final boss. You're almost done with FF2 already.

Found out why level 3 usually was so short in FF3: when you destroy the bus-stop the bus won't stop and the level is over very quick. You'll then also see a completely different level 4 (with a different boss). In this run I took the bus, but later in level 5 a room led me to level 6 without having to fight Stray. Ah, that would explain it. I took the bus (haven't thought about destroying the bus stop sign ). |
