![]() Thank you for cheering me up mate, I needed that now ![]() It's the first day of the round and there are two big scores. As I said this round will be really wicked! I hope I can at least do better than the 12th place last round ![]() |

![]() I think the reason why i finished it this quickly though, is because i had Turrican on the C64 and probably finished it about 40 times in 1990, and then when i got my Amiga in the same year, i probably repeated that again! So even though its been a long time since i have really sat down and played it, the layout of the game has seemed to have stuck in my mind! When i was playing it tonight i could remember small bits of the map here and there which REALLY did help to get me through it!. ![]() Good Luck my friend! ![]() Quote:

![]() Okay, well, that's just... well... OMG! I think when I finished it the last time without using a continue I got around 1.300.000, so I thought 1.600.000 was really good, but THAT is a big, fat, hairy score! ![]() Congrats john! ![]() So TodaysForgotten really got a huge problem ![]() |

Indeed, it is an excellent score so well done John!
I made my comment about Blade's score before I saw the Lemon thread so it's still fantastic but not quite as much ![]() |

![]() It's much more important to me to finish with as many lives left as possible than reaching a high score. As you see my record is finishing with 68 lives (69, to be exact: one in play, 68 in reserve). In the end I just had a score of 1.3 million. Today, when I made 1.9 million points I only finished with 47 lives left. I had to sacrifice some lives to timeouts because for points you have to go everywhere in the levels. I hate playing for points in Turrican. I much rather would play for "who finished the game with most lives left". At least the lives at the end are worth additional points, too. The big problem with playing for who finished with the most lives, of course, is that not everyone can finish it

But you could use the score as tie-breaker. So if two people end the game with 50 lives the one with the better score wins. And if two people die before the end they "finish" the game without any lives - so that only their score would be tie-breaker... But now it's too late to change the rules anyway... |

@john4p: Awesome job on your score! And Awesome job on the Chaos Engine as well !!
![]() Update: I just played half way through again, but made some absolute blunders so i turned it off. lol.. I could have scored higher than my previous score but not as much as John4p if i had of kept going, so i will try another time but next time will be different! ![]() Last edited by blade002; 09 June 2008 at 13:26. |

@blade: Thanks. I also find the alien-levels the hardest: those blood-drops are especially annoying if you try to collect most of the diamonds.
I don't mind losing to you. I just hope you also finish better than TF... ![]() Good luck, m8! Last edited by john4p; 09 June 2008 at 21:15. |

![]() When it comes to winning and losing though, as you know, i am of the same sentiment, like with the Chaos Engine when i was knocked down to 4th spot, but when i realised it was you that came out on top in 1st place, then it was all ok ![]() Actually Turrican is really good for me right now, because it takes alot of things off my mind while i am playing because right now i am under extreme stress and pressure!. Gotta love the Amiga & Turrican for that, they transport me to a world ( and a happier time ) that not even GTA4 could! ![]() Last edited by blade002; 11 June 2008 at 12:42. |

A bit better, still not very good though and there are far too many leaps of faith for my liking.
