i know that isnt a solution, but what about a boot disk, that jumps the first loader?
i mean, to test if the issue can happen also further on

Right, it's not a solution
The loader code is unique and is used for the entire duration of the game.
(it should be completely replaced, but I have no intention of doing so )

a single case sort of workaround
i can do a simple AR freeze if Sasuke want try it

there is a curious thing about the disk1;
this is one the few games that caches in RAM the assets if you have more than 2 MB;
now the access to the other disks could be completely avoided (apart the first loadings+cache ofc) having a lot of memory BUT the game will require the same some checks into disk1

So it is not possible to trace the cause of the problem.....

What method do you use to write adf to floppy?

Ross, what method do you use?

I would like to know if using a floppy writing method, other than greaseweazle, the game starts correctly.
