Both FirePower and Goblins require KickStart images, have you installed them?
You could try and pickup a SRAM card. |

Yes, the Kickstart-images are present, otherwise it complains that they are missing. Perhaps they have to have other RAM than ChipMem?
I could, but the ones I have seen have been extremely expensive... |

If you can find a 2mb SRAM card for about £25 (thats what I paid for mine) it makes all the difference and would tide you over. You just need to keep checking ebay... Steve. |

I look occasionally but forget about it, not all people know what they are selling so if I just search for SRAM PC-card or PCMCIA card I may miss one and when not including the SRAM in the search there's usually a lot of cards that are not sram cards... |

Here's one that actually says SRAM on the card - and it's $110 including the quite expensive shipping. Also - can I be sure it will work?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=220623584193 There are two other 2MB cards from the same seller, maybe I can work something out there - I was not allowed to bid though, since I'm located in Sweden and shipping is only to the US, but I wrote and asked... 6MB would be nice though. Well quite offten you hear what can I run with 2mb -Maybe more could be done to help run games on a 2mb machine -If people are happy to run games from HD but not return to a GUI then why not trash the GUI -overwright anything else you can if your happy not to return to Workbench.
I tried cracked versions of Gobliiins and Bloodwych copied the files to HD and they seemed to work could try installing them that way. |

I have thought about to add such a feature. It's also technical no problem. But I have not that much time available therefore I have to decide to what it should be spent. And it will help only help for some games (maybe 20% of the installs?). Also WHDLoad was/is intended for 'equipped' Amigas. I'm unsure of the benefit to run WHDLoad on a 2 MB 68000 machine. Most of the fixes in WHDLoad installs are not necessary on this hardware.
btw: you can check http://whdload.de/games.csv for games running with you memory available |

Well, an A600 was what I had/could afford and it's quite cheap and easy to add equipment to make it PC-friendly to transfer files. Personally I also like that it can use KS1.3 and run quite a bunch of old disk games.
It's also a small and convenient machine, easy to put on the living room table and put back in the shelf after playing. I will get more RAM asap, I just thought it would be nice to have a list of verified working games here if running from a computer with the bare necessities. ;-) |

realistically you are probably only going to get something like a 2mb Sram card for a sensible price (and often silly prices). I bought a 2mb from this seller on fleabay SELLER this item is the same as mine that I got for £21 and although there is nothing up for sale from him at the moment, he has sold a lot of these cards so maybe worth checking now and then. You can also read his feedback and see how the prices have gone up and down due to demand. Any how with a 2mb card you should find a lot more games run, the downside is that the cards stick out of the Amiga quite a bit but its certainly worth the inconvenience when you get those games running in WHDLoad |

I managed to get the postage down on the 6MB card to $10 instead of $35 - so it's "only" $85 - now I feel like going for that... Shouldn't be a problem with a 6MB card instead, right? ...and hope that a A608 will turn up eventually. |

Quite a list youve got there now
Like I say Gobliiins and Bloodwych you can probably install strate to HD with out the use of any extra tools like WHDload,JST etc aslo Lemmings CDTV has its own install probably a few more on the list - installing them this way they should run without any memory problems. |

I have a custom HD installer on my A2000 that has both Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies (IIRC) You can choose how many balls to start the game with and a highscore list for each setting and board...
But I guess WHDLoad is needed for those other high end computers... Plain old HD installers might be better for us with an A600 Bloodwych BTW should be able to run on a 2MB A600: Bloodwych.slave 19.12.2006 20:44:46 2372 bytes required WHDLoad version 16 flags NoError EmulTrap ClearMem required Chip Memory 512 KiB ($80000) Expansion Memory 0 KiB info name Bloodwych info copy 1989 Mirrorsoft / Image Works info install Installer by Girv © 2006 Halibut Software 2.00 (19.12.06) 1.2r and earlier by Morbidus Kickstart name 0 Kickstart size 0 KiB ($0) Kickstart checksum $0000 Anyway, if you have the original and there's a HDinstaller which works on your current computer that's probably a good alternative. Soo - Gobliins seem to work just by shoving the files over to the harddrive... I'll have to try that, have been playing it some on Wii, both in the Amiga emulator and the SCUMM emulation - SCUMM worked best - the Wii controller mouse emulation is pretty poor in the Amiga emulator. Anyway - don't be shy if you are running WHDLoad on a 2MB A600 - help me fill this list. Last edited by e5frog; 24 July 2010 at 15:29. |
