Maybe, maybe even the 256 color direct-chunky mode one day.

My first priority is just to get the game running correctly (and fast) on an AGA with an 030, when that is done I can consider doing other ports (eg ECS, RTG and Graffiti).

Getting closer to a BETA release now, just got Sound + music working

Also had it running on my real 030 A1200 the other night.

I'll try and upload the first BETA in the next few days, if all is good then I'll stick it up on AmiNet for all to enjoy.

Hi NovaCoder,

thanks for all great apps your making.
I've got idea what could be your next project.
You look the right guy for making better, faster SDL library which
would support AGA!
So many stuff should work on real amigas with such lib.

I will definitely try it when you get it released.
Any support for original Graffiti ? (did I spell it right?)

Ok ok, I've just put the first BETA in the Zone for ya

It's a bit slower on an 030 than I was hoping for, not sure if I can get it any faster without making a lot of work for myself. It should run fine on 040/060 or RTG.

Give it a go and see if you can get it to work

You should install a copy memory path like CMQ030

I'm not trying it yet, but I see some midi_instruments in your files to download. Does it mean I can use my MT-32 to use Midi with it?

No that's MIDI (or rather MUS) emulation.

Some quick first impressions!

First of all: it's just great!

-Without cmq030 it works a bit faster than Adoom under equal conditions (in my case: Blizzard MKIV 030 50 MHz 64 MB)

-Using cmq030 ADoom works a bit faster than Boom (which is crazy, but that's the impression I get playing Doom2 iwad ^_^')

-I couldn't load external wad files with my own maps, sprites, sounds, etc...(which is my favourite doom hobby ) . First it looked for them in a "work:" volume as default (which in my setup doesn't exist). A simple assign solved that, but then the game would get inmediately back to cli right after choosing the dificulty level.

Other than that it looks superb. If this is the first beta I bet the final result will be just awesome!

Glad you liked it

I've only been able to give it very limited testing as I don't have the time.

I think it's too slow for 030 at the moment, I'm going to try changing the C2P to a faster version and will also try something else to make it quicker, just wish that damn IndivisionAGA Mrk2 was released already so I could use Graffiti instead!

Were you running it from the command line BTW? It should be run from WB (command line support will be removed for the release build). All the old DOS command line options are available as Tooltypes.

What I like most about this build of DOOM (apart from the fullscreen option with HUD), is all of the built in options. Did you see that you can change all of the key mappings from with BOOM itself, that's pretty cool

Ok, I coudn't wait so I've just downloaded the files with Wifi and installed it (half an hour all). I have to say I'll be a bad beta tester, as I've never played Doom (it has taked me some minutes to realice I could use mouse).

Well... In my A1200 without the fast ata enabled (well, anyway it's faster than an stock ACA1230/56) I tell you it coudn't go faster. Incredibly fast. I played it from your Boom icon, and before I installed CMQ030.

The only thing I can complain is that I coudn't select my joystick to work changing the keys, and that it wasn't full screen selecting the larger screen available.

Yep, you're right. That was before I realiced I can use mouse . What about a full screen?

Thinking about the speed, it was running very fast, but the shots weren't so fast, anyway very playable. My larger screen is like yours in your video.

Hi, thanks for this!
Have only tried it on WinUAE so far but have managed to get the A Fistful of Doom and WolfenDoom The Original Missions (couldn't get this one to work with DoomAttack) total conversions running with the file tooltype. Can't figure out how to get it to recognize more than one WAD at a time though...

This site has a lot of Doom TCs:

http://doomwadstation.com/main/tc.html

The Amiga WolfenDoom conversions can be found here:

http://www.wolfensteingoodies.com/do...olfenDoomAmiga

Have noticed some problems with Boom/DoomAttack/Adoom under WinUAE. If Synchronize Clock is selected then they will freeze on screen melt and they also freeze if I attempt to use midi_instruments when Microsoft Midi Mapper is selected. Not sure if this shows a problem with these Doom ports or WinUAE or my setup. Has anyone else had these problems?
