I think the resin has to be thermo-cured so you would just end up with a big sticky mess, then again I could be wrong....

Carbon fibre needs high temperature/pressure to set. You need to make a negative matrix, put the fibre inside (by hand or via a wire-pistol-cutter) and then put the matrix in a high-pressure injector (40 ton or maybe 60 ton will suffice) and then inject the resin. Expect to throw away some like 60000 (sixty thousand!) USD to make a single Amiga case! |

Why not find a talented auto body guy and get him to make a case out of thin gauge aluminum? Those guys are always manufacturing metal body parts for classic cars. For the A500 vent grooves, he can use a stainless steel grill mesh. Then he can sand it all down nice and smooth, spray it with a shiny metallic paint and clear coat. You can wax it on the weekends. Sure, it'll cost you the price of a small Toyota, but it'll be worth it.

Guys.
Unless some of you have a lot of money and not much sense, I would forget this idea of manufacturing any kind of replica case. The costs to get one even half decent quality would be just not worth it. Trust me I am a development engineer involved in prototyping plastics / metals. This is a none starter!! Hope this helps |

I wonder what happened to the original molds that were used to make the various ami's.. i guess either sitting in a junk yard somewhere or scrapped and recycled? that's what you need to get your hands on tho

I am very cautious of IndieGoGo. Two out of three of my perks were never delivered. I guess IG with their regulations attract frauds. Never happened with Kickstarter. At least I got my money back from Kickstarter.

I wonder why not Kickstarter this time. Last two campaigns were a success.

The main reason for choosing Indiegogo seems to be that they allow Philippe Lang to price the goal and perks in US$ (a global currency that can be used to pay contractors and is familiar to most backers), the last kickstarter campaign had to be in Singapore Dollars. Other reasons include flexibility in the length of the campaign period and the ability of backers to select more than one perk.
