The same AFCD contains a catalouge of F1 discs and names Erections as F1-164 and Fish Head Buddha as F1-159.

Now we've just got to find someone with the set of discs or adfs.
Aren't they all on Aminet?

Ah okay, my mistake. I'm having one of those days!

By the way, the top search result when googling "Fish Head Buddha" is now this thread! The wonderful world of search engines.

'Fish Head Buddha' and 'Erections' now FOUND! Both adf files zipped and in The Zone.

My wife (of all people!) spent ages trawling through all my old disks in the attic, and found both games, so full credit to my wonderful wife for this!

After sorting through 500+ disks, she piped up "Erections? Fish Head Buddha?"
"Oh my God!" I said. "Have you found them?"
"Couldn't you have told me they were the only two pink disks you own? It would have made it much easier!"

So, I got the Amiga set up in the attic, got the compact flash kit from AmigaKit, and ADF'd both disks. I then managed to get hold of Andy Kellet who used to run F1/5D Licenseware, who said I was welcome to upload them here.

So, mystery solved, and two very unique games preserved.

That is great news superquake!

But... what else is in those boxes of disks...??
You must have many other hidden gems in those boxes that could be uploaded here as well maybe?!!

Take a quick look at this thread... Click
As you can see there are a few other games that are also being looked for...

Also it does seem as though F1 Licensware disks are ok to be uploaded and shared here so are there any other disks from F1 you have?

Hope you can help and many thanks for sharing the games you have found with us here..

Any insight about who did what in Erection, aside "Matt West" for the code ? Music is a MMD1 tagged as being done by "Barney". Anything better than that ?

hum .. according to Fish Head Buddha "manual", it's all by Matt West. I'll upload the ziks on AMP under his name then. If someone knows I'm wrong, please, tell me .

Sylvain

superquake, 1000 kudos to your trusty wife!
Make sure to prove yourself as her only real lover!
I tell you, this type of wives is extremely RARE - so make sure to always keep worshipping the ground she walks on!
Normally, wives rather wait until hubby's at the office and throw away all his retro stuff

(*sniff* If Twistin' Ghost could read this now...after almost *EIGHT* (!!!) years of this game on the MIA list )

Any chance someone could please reupload Erections to the zone? Can't find it anywhere, Fish Head Buddha is now on TOSEC, but no sign of that Erections game.
I was hoping these kind of old uploads would be stored on the file server, but most of them don't seem to be there.

Is Erections have levels or ending? Building is slow and have odd controls.

Fish Head Buddha is even stranger than Erections. Game is technically impressive but I have no clue what should I do.

If you open the disk under Workbench , there are some files you can check.

There is a Manual file but actually it is not a document file. If you run it, it launches, load a bit and then nothing .

On LogicBeyondReason.Doc, you can notably read:
Quote:
As stated in the manual, F.H.B. has been created as a gamic allegory of
Buddhism, by taking the basic aspects of this theology and converting them
into elements of gameplay.
Quote:
In the game you CAN NOT DIE, you're stuck in the game till you reach the
end. How quickly you reach the end depends how good you are. You require
good "Karma" to progress, you get this by being virtuous (skillful) and
loose it by being bad (shit).
Quote:
In the game each Karma Fish and Prize awarded represents one of the steps in
the eightfold path.
I played a bit and ended in a Big Fish, Little Fish mini-game (I clicked the top fish first IIRC. Then there was a screen with several fishs and clicked one...).
Apparently, the aim is to "shoot" the small red fish. When you hit it, there is a small bar at the bottom of the screen that will appear. At the same time, the small fish teleports.
So I guess to win this mini-game, you need to shoot it several times in a small interval of time.

Well, good luck getting further and doing a full longplay video
