These last days I've had to create some icons to work with a program that doesn't work with 3.5 icons.

For what I've seen there are two ways:

- To use your great IconMaker program (included in AKReal, needs FPU as it uses ImageConverter).

- Or to use "Join". That's the one Ken Lester uses. In my distro just typing from Cli "Join" it will open and it's just to take two png images and save them as whatever.info

To convert some old icons I obtained the images using a script I have to get both pngs with alpha channel with ImageConverter (normal -_n- and selected -_s-).

Code:
ImageConverter Sys:#?.info -of Ram:%f_n -f PNG -img 0
ImageConverter Sys:#?.info -of Ram:%f_s -f PNG -img 1
In one of the icons (for the WBArmy game) I found it only had the old images in the icon, so using IconEdit I saved them first, later I converted them to 32bits with Ultimate Paint in the Pc and finally I joined them.
Sorry very old post, but been trying to seperate two images and save them seperately from a DUALPNG and this tool you mention seems like it can do the job but the OP link is gone and i wonder if you happen to still have this imageconverter tool you could share?
I even found some scripts for this in the zone but the imageconverter tool is not included

Thanks for any assistance.

On AROS x86 and OS4 there is a tools called Icon Editor, which allows you to extract the 2 PNG images (from DualPNG icons), Create new ion is add Glow.

Icon Editor also exists for OS3, but it is not anciently distributed at the moment.

Icon Editor is fast and qualitative, the version installed on AROS One x86 can also be started from ISO on Virtual Machine, or from DVD Live or Pendrive Live at PC.

AROS One live starts in seconds, I attach a small Tutorial showing the ease of use by Icon Editor.

It definitely works - I tested it before posting the link...
Did you select the July 25th 2013 snapshot?

There is a newer version available with the Amega One source code:

https://sourceforge.net/p/amega1/cod...ImageConverter

But it requires ab3support.library:

https://sourceforge.net/p/amega1/cod...upport.library

Yes I know it is on Amikit, but Amikit is not distributed for free.

I however as a betatester, I also have a more up-to-date OS3 copy of Amikit.

If you need some icons attach here the icons to convert to DualPNG 46x46 Transparent with Glow.

Yes the best solution is a Virtual Machine, best if you use WMware, HERE you will find a video tutorial showing how to install it quickly.

With Virtual Machine AROS One x86 installs in minutes and is super fast, the system boots in seconds.

If finished installation AROS One, Icon Editor does not work, copy these fixed libraries eand restart sistem, path to copy files LIBS/Hollywood

Yes, and then i look at a webpage, there's no link, there's no auto starting of a download (as the URL might suggest) - i wonder if you actually did download it (and checked it too) as i did get a download that was called imageconverter.lha but it wasn't an archive.

Can you grab it and put it in the zone if it works for you?

For OS4.1 Users I have created Drawer and Binary icons, for some old Amiga games, I will probably make some more in the future.

These Icons are in the native OS 4.1 format (Power Icons), in the future they will be created in DualPNG for AROS and OS3.

Download Icons Games Drawer/Binary:
