I've restepped through the installation instructions and it appears everything was done correctly. Is there something like a ping command in OS3.0 I can run to verify the connection to the router?

Thanks emufan. I have the demo version too, for now. when I run
Code:
ping 192.168.0.10 Edit: There are a tonne of docs as part of the lha extraction (that didn't fit on my hard disk). I'll extract again on the main pc and take another look. Last edited by TenLeftFingers; 11 June 2015 at 22:23. |

cannot find any usefull guide online, just couple messages on some boards.
maybe best is: Roadshow-Demo/Documentation/Installation.guide from the demo archive. ps: amiga guide files you can view on your pc using Stone Oakvalley AGViewer. oh: there is also a pdf of the Installation.guide: Roadshow-Demo/Documentation/Printable/Installation.pdf ![]() edit: if ping does not give result, it may also due to filtering ICMP messages. is the roadshow firewall running in your setup? maybe your router does filter such things by itself. so try traceroute, for example: traceroute eab.abime.net traceroute 192.168.0.10 any usefull output from the other status commands i listed above ? btw: since you bought the full version of roadshow, just use this one. i think it is more uptodate , compared to demo. i think there were also some updates meanwhile. and the installer can uninstall roadshow, just in case you want start from scratch - at least the demo says so, i think full version offers the same feature. Maybe I'll just install the new version next time I'm at the Amiga. I did try traceroute earlier against a machine on my network and there was no output of any kind. I'll have a look at the pdf, thank you, I missed it

hmm, just saw on roadshow website, demo got same version number.
author of roadshow should think about a userfriendly config tool. |

The manual is not that helpful. It deals with drivers like ppp that I'm not using and modems like ASDL that I'm not using. What's more, "Roadshow is not compatible with the AmiTCP configuration utilities, such as the ‘ifconfig’ or ‘route’ commands."
So because I've been using the prism2v2 driver most of the installation guide is useless. I see there is a forum for roadshow though so I may ask over there. |

![]() TenLeftFingers: you are using latest (?) prismv2 driver. installation went good ? which wlan card do you have, readme of prismv2 says, some cards only support wep encryptions-needs to get flashed with new firmware to support wpa - which might be default in your router ?! if there is a log facility in your router, perhaps you can find some message while connecting to the router!? there is a prism2.config file in roadshow package. what i understand from reading, basic steps like: 1) in shell/cli: Copy SYS:Storage/NetInterfaces/Prism2#? DEVS:NetInterfaces 2) in shell type: AddNetInterface Prism2 should give some status output you may post here, if you are in doubt about failures. manual says now there should be connection to local network, as well as internet access - if things went well. maybe the following files you have to edit as well: 3) Ed DEVS:Internet/routes default <IP of your router> 4) Ed DEVS:Internet/name_resolution nameserver <IP of your router> in 3) and 4) --> put # infront of lines you dont want use Last edited by emufan; 13 June 2015 at 23:51. |

So it turns out there was a problem with my workbench install. Sir_Lucas kindly met me on chat and helped me troubleshoot. So after a reinstall it was "simply" a matter of installing lha.run, prism2v2, ADAPCMCFL, Roadshow, classact2demo, and AmiFTP.
We troubleshooted these with DOSSnoop and used Filer to move things around to where they were supposed to be ![]() Emufan, thank you so much for your help, as well as Thomas. The community is quite amazing here and I'm looking forward to returning the favour as often as possible as I learn more. |
