i think they both should do the job. my lyra2 generally works like a charm, BUT in some whdload pinball games it has flaws... e.g. pinball mania - keys don't react well or not at all. don't know if it's my setup ..... but generally it works great!

RE: Keyboard controller...
I had a Fast ATA Controller installed - excellent piece of kit but the Lyra keyboard Adaptor and the Fast ATA Controller clash for space so I had to return the Lyra and buy a PC-KEY 1200 keyboard controller. I guess if you used another IDE controller (like the Individual IDE-Fix Express) you could opt for the Lyra adptor - is is better than the PC-Key 1200 in my opinion but I would say... go for your first choice IDE controller and then look at your keyboard options later... I will get a list of items I would recommend together for you a bit later... Last edited by Peter; 24 February 2010 at 21:50. |

Here is a quick list of Tower items... if I think of anything else I will edit this...
1.Right Angle PCMCIA Adaptor http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=690 Don't put the MB into the Tower before installing one of these - the last thing you want to do is have to take everything out again to install this adaptor! 2.CD/Amiga Sound mixer port http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=485 With a CD installed in the Tower it is nice to be able to play CD's and also be able to hear native Amiga sounds. |

Well heres my shopping list
1 x EZ Z4 Tower1 x Tower Case LED Adapter for A12001 x PCMCIA Right Angled Adapter (A1200/A600)1 x Lyra 2 Keyboard Interface (A1200)1 x Amiga Floppy Disk Drive (A1200 Tower/A2000/A4000)1 x 50-way SCSI Ribbon Cable (50 CM/3x connectors) Hopefully I can get a hold of an A1200 Mobo and some Roms as I want to keep my Desktop as it is... My Typhoon MK2 030 @ 40mhz will be going in, its maxed out with 64mb and FPU Will be running a CD ROM off the SCSI and later a SCSI-IDE-CF but for now I'll be running my 40gb 2.5 inch HDD @Amigakit can you make up an IDE cable that I can run off the native A1200 IDE that will be long enough to mount the 2.5inch HDD in one of the HDD bays? Anyway i'll be ordering in the next couple of weeks once i've got the cash together as its working out pretty expensive Oh I just won a nice SCSI CDROM for 99p on ebay: Its an IBM and I figured the purple button will match the case buttons, sad I know but I like attention to detail! Loving the idea this will all be shiny and new, well except for the Mobo/030/CDROM... Don't worry there will be lots of pics Steve. PS, thanks again for all the advice Peter |

This cable should be ideal for the job:
http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=298 You can use your existing drive or one of ours: we can supply either internal fdd or floppy disk drive with a facia. There is a second 3.5" drive bay below the moulded 3.5" drive facia. Last edited by amigakit.com; 25 February 2010 at 23:34. |

Got my busboard today, looks like serious bit of kit cant wait to try it out
Motherboard will be with me later in the week but I've asked Amigakit to avoid delivery of the Tower whilst I'm away (19th-26th March) so it will probably be easier for them to despatch after that. Looking forward to putting this all together, I'll have the cybervison 64/3D to go in. Will I need a Scan Doubler for this? My LCD TV that I use my Amiga on has a VGA input that supports 1024*768 so I'm hoping to run my Workbench in that res through the CV64. Also wondering how this will affect games what run in lower resolutions, will I need to use the Scart output for those or will then run off the Cybervision in their native resolution? For now I'll be using my Typhoon Mk2 40mhz 030 Accelerator until a cheap A4000 style accelerator comes along, this should be quick enough to drive the workbench through the Cybervision shouldn't it? Ohhhh! I really can't wait to get going on this.... Steve. |

Hello, yes this drive will fit. The EZ Z4 Tower has two 3.5" drive bays.

Can I put it in the 3.5" bay with the floppy cover thing, or I will have to use the other one?
Thanks! |
