Easy guys, just set up a File Association in Windows...
Follow these steps: ... Extract AmigaDiskIcons.zip to C:\. ... Run Windows Explorer or double-click on My Computer from the desktop. ... Select Tools --> Folder Options... ... Select the File Types tab. ... Click New and type in either ADF, ADZ, DMS or IPF and click OK. ... Now have whatever you just entered highlighted, click Advanced and then Change Icon... ... Click Browse... and point to C:\ where you extracted the .ico file to. ... Double-click on whichever of the 3 .ico files you want to use then click OK, OK, Close. |

For XP: In Explorer click one Extras->Folder Options. Click on 'New'. For Extension enter the desired one, i.e. IPF. Click OK. Select the newly created entry in the list. Click on Advanced. Type in the upper text field the desired description, i.e. SPS-Image. Click on Different Symbol. Select the icon you want, click on OK 2 times. Ready. (Button texts translated from German, may differ on your one)

These icons work great but I have a small problem regarding ADFView, does anybody know how I can change its default icon to one of these floppydisk ones? If I associate adfs to these icons then adfview stops working?

This great stuff should be part of the WinUAE installer!
The installer should have a routine inside which tests whether icons are already installed. If they aren't ( = first installation on the system), they get automatically installed. Maybe make them part of the .exe (as with 1,000s of other Windows programs) In the 21st century, the user should no longer require to install this manually. |

I agree. These awesome icons should be part of WinUAE in the next released version!
