Just playing it I've noticed that A. Townsend (for Crystal Palace) is a Goalkeeper upfront for some reason. He's actually a LW.

Excellent release! Thank you to all involved for the hard work.

It would be good if there could be an online editor where people could fix bugs/kit colours etc. I've noticed a few mistakes already. For example my home town team of Scunthorpe United (currently top of league one) are still in last seasons kit. Also Josh Morris (voted player of the month every single month) is hugely undervalued in the game as are most of the players. He should be at least 500k in my opinion and not 150k. I'll be editing this sort of stuff for myself but the online editor would allow people to update their teams for everyone else - as long as their values are realistic.

For me there are too many players on £15m. It should be reserved for the very best (Ronaldo and Messi in other words). I would rate Neymar at £12m and Suarez either £10m or £12m etc. Bale at £12m also not £15m. Anyway thats just me. An online website where you can edit the huge list of teams and kits would be heaven. And why is Kaylor Navas black in the game? He is white. Really strange.

The Lha archive for me does not work. Tried in WinUAE - FS-UAE - all ClassicWB version, Real Amiga, the screen turn grey and not start. The CD32 e PC (with WinUae) version work.To make it work the lha version, i copied the 2 folders Data and graphs in Sensible World Of Soccer 97-98 and work.I also tried the Hdf file of PC version (with WinUAE) in FS-UAE and works perfectly.

The lha version works perfectly fine in WinUAE. Tried it yesterday. ClassicWB with an A1200 quickstart+Fast Ram config.

The game works fine for me on my A1200s and under WinUAE, all running OS 3.9. However, the archive gives strange warnings when unpacked with UnArc about not being able to access the archive file. Unpacking from the command like with lha works fine, but it's strange that it doesn't with UnArc since I use that for all my downloads and never have an issue (in fact, on one of my a1200s I actually had to install the lha command so that I could unpack it).

What was the archive packed with? Perhaps there's something slightly odd about the format that catches UnArc / XADMaster out.

No problems via ClassicWB Lite+ACA 1230 on my A1200. The lha archive is not the WHDLoad patched version.

Ony higher CPUs you probably should overwrite the "Data" and "Grafs" folders of the preinstalled WHDLoad versions (SWOS 96/97) with the newer ones.

OK: The non WHDLoad version seems pointless because you can't save your season on hdd. Time for Galahad to finally release a new slave with this update included. And hopefully a fully working career mode too (or was it only a problem with older season updates?).

Thanks, that works. But yes seems very odd to go to all this effort and then not release it as a WHDLoad package which is what 99% of Amiga users play games with.

One thing I have noticed is that SWOS (96/97 and the new 16/17) is incredibly laggy on my A4000. It is almost unplayable. The original SS runs smooth as silk, was SWOS always like this or is it due to my 060 or something?

SWOS isn't a big fan of accelerator cards I'm afraid.

While a lot of people seem to already enjoy the updated version, i can't make it run on an original A1200. I download the LHA but I'm doing sth wrong since, I either can't open the Unzipped folder (under MacOS) or it says that some files are not accessible or found when I unzip under AmigaOS 3.9 (real A1200 with ACA1232). What the heck am I doing wrong? Could somebody provide a step by step installation procedure for real Amiga? While it is straightforward, there is sth going wrong here no matter what.

I use the preinstalled DirOpus 4 from ClassicWB LITE. Unpacking works without any problems.

Thanks for the heads up. It seems that Unrar is causing problems then. Let's see but it still is strange why this happens.

You can download it from here:
http://files.swos.eu/aswos/swos1617.lha

Btw, just used DOPUS4 in order to extract the game and it worked absolutely fine. It seems that it was Unarc that caused the problem of corrupt files so after that everything went smoothly and i also finished (express mode for testing purposes) a complete season without having the game crash so i confirm that the job is done as promised. Kudos to the team that did the update! Thanks to everyone involved!
