Amazing stuff guys!
Yulquen74, could you attach a .bin file of your equations that I can burn directly into a GAL? Cheers! |

chip. This is not the old type of chip used in the original adapters, but a type still in production. Its also possible to build the adapter using some good old 74 logic if programming a GAL equivalent is difficult, but it would probably require at least 3 chips. I mean - searching for algorithm how to program PAL devices produced by AMD and known as PALCE (comparable technology to GAL).
So not the code but description how produce required sequence of operation to program any code in particular family of devices. |

I just found out that my Willem programmer doesn't program GALs. I'll have to get another programmer next week sometime. The main reason for wanting the GAL jedec file is to build a low profile adapter that'll fit in my GVP A500 HD8+. My original GURU ROM and adapter doesn't fit under the HDD, so my HDD is lying loose on the table. I'm gonna get some of these SMT GALs http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...5XU-ND/1008422 and then remove the pins from some IC sockets, drill the holes a bit bigger on the PCB so that the pins can fit almost all the way through. Similar idea to this:http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...T-STRIP/1.html Hopefully it'll then make the adapter thin enough to fit under the HDD. Will keep you posted once I've made it. |
