If the Impossible Mission III project for PC had been completed and released (in a parallel universe), today would be that day! We would have had a total of nine modules making up Elvin's space station, along with a large number of puzzle games, new robots and new features (actually a lot of them), intros, cutscenes, etc. The screenshots below depict two additional settings: the cargo module (with an example of gravity inversion) and Elvin's computers module and robot factory.
It's a pity this game doesn't exist as a downloadable file anywhere. Maybe it doesn't exist at all, who knows?

You, presumably. Aren't you the supposed coder of it? And you are really claiming you don't know whether you finished it!? Is this meant as some sort of not very funny joke?

Well, if you don't like evasive jokes, maybe you'd prefer me to say that the game actually exists, it's finished, it's going through the last testing phase... but it can't be distributed even for free because the official game with the same title will be released for C64 this very year, maybe this summer or autumn. And it's a pity that even though I started mine 10 years ago, since I could only work on it in my free time, I'm finishing it just now that the real one is coming out, (what a stroke of bad luck). I don't want to get in trouble with the IP holders. So, I have nothing left but jokes. AND of course the joy of sharing the experience at least with fellow retrogamers.

you could pass the game in PM on request. I think there many fan that enjoy your game much better than the official new game.
or you can change the name.

However, your game is PC, the official is C64. There is no problem, imho.

would there still be an "IP Issue", if say it was renamed to something similar, like "Almost Impossible Mission" or something similar to dodge a bullet.

I definitely think some name and game asset changes is needed. But I would do it just so all that hard work is not wasted.

I would just give it a different name and call it a tribute project. Improbable Mission: go!

Looks great, definitely worthy of an Amiga port. Major companies barely notice Amiga projects, so you could release on this platform safely I reckon!

Only company I think of that causes grief to anyone is Nintendo. Maybe Capcom to, not so sure on that, vague threats maybe.

But it doesn't seem that Ghosts'n Demons (which is on itch.io!) has been blocked; and it isn't the only one. So maybe Capcom isn't so strict. Years ago I had started my own sequel to Ghosts'n Goblins (which I will finish as soon as possible) and I had even registered the domain www.makaimura.com, which was available, and they didn't say anything to me.
I'm more concerned about the IP holders of a small franchise such as Impossible Mission, who have just now decided to relaunch it, suspiciously after I created the development blog of my game - it may not be a coincidence.

I'm confused.

why post all this? why post screenshots and tell everyone about it, if you're not gonna release it? Here's something you could have had, but now are not?

If you are gonna release it, then great, i would love to try it, but if it's something that only you will get to enjoy, then what's the point?

i don't wanna say clickbait, but i just did

Yeah, I get pissed whenever a developer says "I developed this great homebrew but I'm gonna keep it for myself because I'm scared of copyright"
