thanks for the pic steve, my jumpers are set differently ,will have to read the manual now its been translated and try those settings of yours on mine. for some reason i thought 4gb limit was partition size not overall size(god knows why!!) so thats something else to look into !!
once again thanks for all the help regards terexuk Quote:

gee 2G is not a partion limit. you should know this FOL !!!
but saying that and especially on FFS your would`t really want to make partions that are bigger than 2Gig |

He hasnt mentioned SFS, so we can only guess he is using FFS. He is also using standard 3.1. So the limit is 4GB for drive and 2gb for boot partitions. Dont forget you need both filesystem and scsi.device to support larger drives. Last edited by FOL; 06 May 2011 at 15:06. |

I am talking about FFS, you could if you so wished have one partion that is 4gig, you would`t want to but you could.
me shouts THOMAS if I`m wrong I`ll eat all my chocchip cookies in one go, but that aside all your info is correct so don`t be put off terexuk and use the settings FOL suggests |

Thats why it has to be under 2GB. |

With standard settings, yes. But of course you can patch the FFS and scsi.device and then you have no problems with large partitions under KS 3.0/3.1.

It has to boot, to be able to patch the scsi and use new filesystem. This is gone way off topic. |

just to reiterate as i mentioned earlier the drive is split into 500mb boot partition then 3 partitions all under 2gb i was forgetting about the 4gb limit as a whole.
I was using std ffs with 3.1 but am now going to use the patched ffs and scsi.device included with classicwb hoping this will sort the problem |

I'd suggest using SFS. It'll require reformatting your partitions, but it's well worth the trouble.

I must admit I have not tried a Bootable partion greater than 2gig well if i have I can`t remember but that will defo be one of the things I`ll try when I get round to it
terexuk, your partions sound fine, good luck with the bigger ones after your have patched the scsi.device and ffs |

OK , after much fu.. faffing about this is where im at:
Things ive done: repartitoned drive using the sfs filesystem (ahead of you there hewitson ) using killagorillas guide ,500 mb wb partition ,2 1500 partitions replaced scsi.device with v43 this boots in winuae from drive gives recoverable error alert in real miggy naming scsi.device as problem as above but deleting v43 scsi.device boots in winuae, fails at fblit in real miggy replaced f4 and f5 keys after pinging them off whilst reseating hd cradle booted from install disk to check drive in real miggy all ok, all partitions showing and accessible reread guide then realised i had,nt set buffers too 100 set buffers to 100 ,instant crash in real miggy reset to 30 fails at fblit checked stock of vodka, got hammered (this was last night) over to you guys , off too get paracetemol |

@FOL,
Do you think this could be a Motherboard timing issue? @Terexuk, I'm happy to prep up a CF card for you and send it for you to test, with adapter. You'll have to send it back when you're done, but at least it could rule out other issues. Steve. |

@terexuk; How about trying Amigasys or a lower spec version of CWB. Could be the CF, I have had some give lots of wierd errors even when setup correctly. |
