I have only watched the youtube video.
The remake looks good, sofar, but the playfield is running and thus the opponents are revealed too fast. There is no time to enjoy the Graphics. |

I'd play it - for about 2 hours total. @Dev: Do this with Silkworm!

Graphics - Sauer's pixel art is amazing and timeless. The graphics here don't thrill me as much - kind of like CGI - too shiny and lacking detail. The explosions of the enemies look weird on screen and a bit 'messy' to me. Music - I'm not sure what kind of reverb and sound effects over the piano (intro) but they sound bloody awful The music sounds a little sterile. The original music had depth and that degree of 'something else' (i.e. magic). |

Objectively speaking its not too bad... but it nowhere near the same level if we compare "pixel art skill level" (of the Amiga version) vs "3d rendered art skill level". It looks kind of average for an Unreal 4 game and the gameplay is a bit... "Too much sh1t going on on screen" for me ;-) And I don't mean the number of enemies, I'm talking about the over-usage of the "playstation 3-esque" animated circle effect to mark hits, shock-waves etc..
That being said, its still a lot of work put into it, at the I applaud the effort. It so much easier to sit here in the chair and criticize than actually do something constructive, isn't it? ;-) |

Agony is a buggy buggy game, good gfx and music, just that
don't deserve any remake, will lead them to bankruptcy |

I really enjoyed Agony, a real powerhouse for the Amiga catalogue. Loud, brash, colourful, beautifully rendered, responsive controls and kick ass presentation. I would have preferred a slightly larger playfield for the gaming action, but considering the coding tricks involved I`m not surprised.

Only those two side scrollers? I don't see what they would be lacking that other titles do have - say your R-Type, Apidya or Silkworm.
They're all equally boring gameplay-wise to me, but because of style and atmosphere they still ooze an aura of cool that makes the repetition more fun. St. Dragon has a special place in my heart in that regard, absolute love it. |

Agony Remake
Stumbled upon Youtube. It was created on Unreal Engine 4. So far it looks like one of best remake attempts of an Amiga game. I wish it was a full game.
