I swapped my working B2000 for two non-working ones (I used neither of the 3, but it made the THOR developer a happy man so I accepted it). Incidentally, I expect to take delivery of the two sometime in June when I get the emptying of my mother's house arriving.

A1200 in a tower, with a PPC and graphics card. I was moving home in 2004. It was taking up space and I hadn't used in years. I threw it in the bin. The regret is strong.

10 years ago, during a house move, I took an A1200 and 1084S monitor to the dump. Regretted it the next day and ever since.

About 6 years ago when moving house I threw out a working A600 with Viper630 because the keys were yellowed, and two faulty CD32s that probably could have been repaired. However I did keep my A1200 with 50MHz Blizzard 1230-IV, thinking the Amiga scene was dead so it was the only machine worth keeping. Boy did I regret that later!

reading all this hurts. Specially when you see that all people are still active on the amiga scene years after.
I almost sold my A1200/060 tower at some point, but the sale didn't work out, and the tower had problems, so I tore it apart and reassembled a simple A1200/060 desktop (I had kept the case & keyboard and psu) that works pretty well (not even recapped!) is used on a weekly basis (for instance to kick (almost) everyone's EAB ass at Pang). The old Pixel 64 and Ateobus lies in my garage. I'd consider it binned. In that garag, I also have an old yellowed A500 1.3 512k/1.5MB fast + ARIII with "return" key not working. I used to debug some games that resisted HRTMon with the AR, but now with WinUAE, I'm not using it anymore. But I don't want to bin it either. Almost considering buying a cheap side expansion to add an hard drive. |

i've never binned any working old computer.
But I've binned a lot of broken cases and corroded motherboards which were stripped of all customs so that others could live. :-) |

In the 90s I threw out my very battered but still more or less functioning A500 when I got an A1200. At least I still have the 1200.
Also in the 90s I got my hands on a C128D. I played around with it a bit but it was faulty so it got binned. Around 2004 I tossed an A4000/040 with a battery damaged motherboard. It had stopped working a few years prior but I lugged it around for a while before chucking it. I had an NEC Multisync 3D monitor back then, too. I can't even remember what happened to it. I don't recall it failing. I think I need a hug now... |

Nope, don't think i ever binned any Amiga parts at all, always passed them onto someone else or sold....
PC parts however... thats a different story |

I absolutely can't remember what I did to my A1000 machine, as much as me galls it. But I'm 100% sure that I didn't dump it. I'm pretty confident that I sold it, because I needed the money for the next gen which would have been a PC then.
And if anybody here seriously considers to throw away some old machine, I would be interested to get a chance to grab it. |

I don't know if that counts but when I bought my second CD32 machine, the delivery guy throwed it over my gate (which is 7 foot high) despite the "fragile" red sticker because I wasn't at home.
The machine still works though. My first CD32 machine isn't working so great but it may be a detail. Anyway I always keep my computing stuff even if broken just for spare parts. |

When I upgrade my PC or the old one fails or I just decide to salvage it for parts, then I always keep the CPU by itself. The AMD CPUs are prickly with all of those pins, but I got my first Intel iCore CPU and that thing is smooth with all the contacts, and it's slightly smaller, too.

Never canned an amiga, but PCs... sometimes I feel guilty, specially knowing how much money all of those were originally paid.
Just couple of months ago we canned about 10 computers at work, including one power edge server. |

I've thrown an A2000 away that was given to me. Dirty, rusty, missing a lot of parts including the top of the case. Did not see a chance to fix this at this time.

I binned my broken A570 that the local repair shop said had a "broken main logic chip" and wasn't repairable. 25 years later I'm 100% confident that I could fix it. Luckily my Dad bought me another at the time as I was devastated.
My friend took to his A500+ with a hammer. I wasn't there to witness it but have nightmares about that poor baby flying to pieces |

I never threw any Amiga gear away before but the biggest regret I have is trading my A3000 for an Amiga 1200, I had bought an A3000 at the World of Amiga in London for £50 and got a Picasso II card and did it all up, for some reason though after a few months I wanted to change it for an A1200. So I found a guy will to swap his A1200 for an A3000 .... man that was the one of the dummest things I have done, I still kick myself over that.
