You're getting real touchy! Why can't you learn to lighten up and realise that I'm only kidding with ya (what else do you think that "big grin" smilie is up there for?!)?

Well, I know I'm a bit late (as usual, don't check these forums that often)..
But let me tell you a few facts about AmigaXL (as some of you seem to have misunerstood what it is about): AmigaXL is a package of *two* emulators, Amithlon and AmigaOS XL. Amithlon runs on a modified *Linux* kernel. It's the only task running on it. It takes over the system. Native drivers for Ethernet, Gfx, Sound etc. will be available. It comes with JIT emulation and does not emulate the chipset - therefore it's faaaaast. It is possible to write x86-*native* AmigaOS applikations for it! AmigaOS XL is basically a modified version of WinUAE-JIT (and it's not faster than WinUAE). That means, it includes Chipset emulation. It runs on top of a complete QNX distribution which is included in the package. You can start QNX applications from within the emulation, so you can use your Workbench as the only Desktop. AmigaOS XL can provide virtual memory for the emulated AmigaOS. Both emulators come with OS 3.9. |

Let's do some Amigaboy math :hooooo
$140 US * 2 = Australian Dollars Therefore $140 US = $280 AUS $280 AUS / 3 = British Pounds Therefore, $280 AUS = about 94 pounds Therefore, $140 US = 94 Pounds |

140 isnt that much now, I didnt know it would include OS3.9. OS3.9 by itself must be costing around 60bucks, so do the math.

Well ok lets do some math :
Amithlon = I won´t pay for an emu OS XL = see above OS 3.9 = $40 here QNX 6.1 = free -------------------------------------------- So lets sum it up, I would pay $140 for something thats worth $40, that´s no good deal ![]() |

I agree with your views (Id never pay for an emu), but it still rounds up as a fair price.
BTW this QNX is, I assume, the proper QNX os, and not the Real Time Operating System. QNX RTOS is free, QNX is not (last i heard, of course ![]() [correction] i mean I think they are all real time OS, but you have QNX4, 6, RTOS, and then the free QNX Realtime Platform. I suppose (*suppose*) AmigaOS XL wil include the non-free QNX |

Amiga OS XL will include the QNX 6.1 version, which is free for private usage
