Dude. You disappoint me with that one. Says the person who reviews (bad) games from ages ago. Why now? Bit late buddy, these games have passed their commercial value.

I can surely hope you do it because it's fun and memorable. There doesn't need to be a point.

Why now?! I mean 30+yrs ago this would be a diamond question,...getting great conversions on the Amiga following all the shite ones we got and believe me I know with all the games I've reviewed on the Shit Game Time series, but now we have MAME to play all those classics so what's the point converting them to Amiga now?!
Righting the old wrongs ?

More seriously, there are still a lot of people who prefer to play games on their Amiga. Can they use MAME on their Amiga ?

(The Amiga version was almost another straight Atari ST port anyway).

Ok but I still don't get it myself, now if no arcade emulation exsisted then yeah I'd be really excited about closer arcade versions on the Amiga but as there is arcade emulation which can be hooked up from a laptop to a CRT tv as I do using compossite leads I stopped hungering for better Amiga versions via homebrew over the many cruddy original releases, I don't see the point 30+yrs after the boat left, but hey I'm just saying, just my opinion , if you can't use MAME then yes I can see the interest

Because first it's a personal satisfaction to code some games on a retro machine, second it's to show what you can do on a particular system with time and attention, and third, like many people, i prefer to play on real hardware (console or PCB) than emulators, even mame .
I add something too, converting an arcade game is easier than doing an original one .

Sorry if my work is not amiga related, but i know there is some shinobi's fans here.

"Because we can"
and, because personally I (keep in mind am involved with several projects so am working on it) feel is time to get what we were mischieovusly promised from the software houses of the time! (and i still hope someone will adapt the STe refactor of Outrun on Amiga OCS/ECS)

Not a strong one but i loved Shinobi in the arcade; liked also Shadow Dancer and the Konami Shinobi clone in space : Surprise Attack [another port for you?]

I bought Shinobi for 3DS a little while back after Retrogames UK reviewed it. Looks the part. Hadn't come across it before.

I hadn't seen the Amiga version but checked after your comment and it's a different game for sure; similar story to what Nintendo did with The Great Giana Sisters on the move to DS.

There are several Shinobi games on various systems that are nothing like the original.

I agree, many of us who experienced the original arcade game would have enjoyed playing a faithful conversion on our console or pc .

I really hope we will get a new Amiga port, even if it requires AGA. 32 colors, full screen and smooth scrolling would be great for example
