Sadly, on the main information-page of the games it is no longer visible if a game has an (official) ipf. I always found that information very helpful (together with the information if a whdload-installer exists - which is still there) without needing to click on the links.

There's a game search list mode - there are layout icons at the top right of the page.

Also it defaults to Title Screen mode.. Default on List mode would be nice... Double barrel image is not visible unless you click the game entry. Previously Double Barrel image was shown in list mode and list mode looked neat and tidy and condensed Last edited by ransom1122; 17 July 2023 at 12:19. |

Thanks for all the hard work behind the scenes.
I am an extreme HOL user and find it an amazing resource but I was extremely used to the old version so I may not be the best person to provide non-biased feedback. I have to adjust zoom to 67% before it shows approx the same amount of information that could be seen at 100% on the old HOL. Is this deliberate? I don't care for desktop as my browser will remember the zoom level per website but mobile no so much. The lack of visible boundary boxes around each field makes it difficult to determine which field an entry is in (e.g. Is that the bottom name in coder or top name in Graphics). I'd like to see the boundaries between fields come back. It would be good if a link to the advanced search option was next to the search box. I was able to find it but only because I knew where it was before. What has happened to all the new "Quickmatch" searches that I was working with TCD on? e.g. Network Serial, 4 player adapter etc. |

Ta, I know that. I meant from the singular list. Last edited by DDNI; 17 July 2023 at 15:01. |

Lovely
Hello.
I had a quick look at the new HOL design today and I must say that it looks lovely. The main site gives me nice almost Steam-like vibes (I would say it looks even better than Steam, more transparent, not too clogged up). At first I was suprised to see "Games" in Genres for...well...games, but when I clicked on it, I knew what it meant (perhaps "Board" or "Table" would be a better description). I will take a longer look during the next days, but I can already say that I like what I see so far. |

I am used to old Hol design and I thinks it was more easy to navigate. I understood that updates were need to be made, but new mobile look looks too simple and not easy to navigate. It would be easy to write that new HOL looks awful, but let's try to make it constructive, maybe there will be people who feel same way as I.
I do not mind how now looks main page and it's integration with other sites is a good thing. I would love to see integration in links section with Moby database of games. Next big move could be update of RACK with non English magazines and use that to update HOL with more reviews/previews. Next thing are icons on each game entry page, they are too bland, buttons with English text like in old version was very easy to navigate and You already know in with section You will land. Maybe try to add icons and text, try different options, maybe small icon pictogram on left and text on right side of button. Or small text under each icon. Worst part in new HOL is update page, it looks unreadable both in PC and mobile versions. I like old one because it looks like table in excel with nice separation for each entry, by background color below text, by that small dark lines between each cell with text and by forcing text to stay in one line. It makes it easy to read and find each part of information about nature of each update entry. Now it looks like text is formated to fit screen, even if it means to collapse text down to next lines and reduce separation, it ends with hard to read page with text that try to mix and blend together just to stay on screen. I hope it can be fixed/polished or we can have old skin over new engine. |

After a few days browsing I have to agree that the layout is way too big for the desktop. Zoom at 67% to see the pictures inside my browser space.
There should be lines separating the fields for easier readability and to identify more clearly the info of each field. Other than that works very well. On mobile I think it has a very good layout, the design working very well. |

Looking great, still some tweaking but that is natural in such a big project.
What i see i like best when i zoom to only 50%-70% on this screen (4k 3840z2160 300% windows setting). Then everything looks fine here, else many things are too big, check @ 50%: I see also the top is two images are getting cut between 992 > 1300px , maybe change size between those resolutions, or go for the one below 992px: Else when i click images to zoom it do not really get any bigger when i have the zoom level @50% Keep up the great work !! |

Hmm, for me it still works when I right click on the image in the popup and select 'save image as'.
