I don't think it depends on the browser, though... EDIT: you are not required to enter a pw because you chose the "remind me" option. This doesn't mean you're not logged out. Simply, you are not aware of it . |

Sorry to say that, but then you three must have made a mistake somewhere Best would be to delete all cache things (including cookies) and login again. This time choose to save your password and to auto-login (sorry can't be more specific because I haven't logged in since quite a few months now ). For sure it's not a fault of the board
@Supamax And what would be the use of being logged on all the time? |

I'm always logged in, on all forums it visit daily. Firefox works fine here, like bippy and TCD said.

Hi TCD ,
why should I be forced to save my password if I don't want to? Quote:
I wonder why EAB has a logout time so limited (or why it has at all). We are not thousands here. I suppose EAB could manage us for a longer time . |

Well there is your answer Maybe RCK can increase the time, but I would guess if you use a unique password for EAB (which you surely do ), it wouldn't hurt to save it. It's not like you have any vital info here right?

So we could sum up EAB's policy this way: a) If the user doesn't have "activity" on EAB for xx (10, it would seem) minutes, log him out no matter what he's doing (usually replying to posts. Murphy's law ) b) If the user wants to be automatically logged in he's forced to save his password I'm still wondering why... low bandwidth? Some other reasons? |

a) EAB's session timeout is 15 minutes, after this time I will kick user session to give back memory for other server usage.
b) You have to check the "Remember Me" checkbox to have one encrypted local cookie which will let you autolog - like other website does. |

@RCK,
Is the "Save Password" box the same as "Remember Me"? That's the only one I can see when I log in. Thanks, prowler |

For me it time out mainly when i read long threads. It's not a problem just need to remember to log back in again where you are upto on the last post. Easy then to get back or view newer thread postings. By clicking the blue square with white down arrown to left of the thread main post, back to where you last read up to.

The thing that isn't correct but maybe there for some other reason. Is when timed out and click post a reply. You then have to click again on the procede button. Maybe its there to keep out the bot mailings and such.

Hi All,
I must admit that since I started this thread asking that consideration be given to changing the Today's Posts menu option to Latest Posts or similar, I have found that Show Unread Posts is a satisfactory alternative if I've been away from my PC for a few days, even if I get disconnected before I have finished catching up. I would like to express my thanks to all those who have contributed to the discussion on this thread since it was started. prowler |
