Every second sector of certain disks has a broken sector header (IIRC there was an extra bit found there). We have no idea how these were written, perhaps they were copied in nibble mode with a machine with broken memory or something? Or perhaps just a buggy copier that worked at the MFM level for some reason.
trackdisk.device on a real Amiga can handle these incorrectly written disks, but the disk reads a lot slower than a disk with intact sector headers. |

@chip, It's never going to be finished, TMB is sourcing disks from all over europe.
You might be better off asking when the world ends @dlfsilver you know the channel to ask the right questions in. Newly dumped disks are pure gold, everyone remember that, because without the hard work of some Amiga lovers, you'd have nothing. |

As far as I recall, if someone was to KF/SC dump a disk, it cannot be written back directly (or at least that's what someone with the hardware has told me) without some further adjustments. Maybe this is what dlfrsilver could shed more light/help on? |

To understand why it is like this, KF/dtc come from a software preservation standpoint. It could be a copy protection, it might be a broken disk, but it doesn't second guess. It only accepts correct data. Quote:

No problem, files removed.
Should have known there might be some WB disks. Who would have thought this still would be an issue in this day and age. Anyway, thanks again, much appreciated. |
