Ok, I have a 1200 with the same blizzard (with fpu) and that SCSI controller but the system doesn't work with the SCSI attached 90% of the time using the stock power brick, so I asumed it was under powered.

You could try to clean the connections between the Blizzard/Motherboard and Blizzard/SCSI Kit with Isopropyl alcohol to see if there is a connection issue between the boards but I think you should use a better PSU for all that kit

The Amigakit one is very good or you can buy adapters for a regular ATX PSU.

I wouldn't go back to a stock PSU on expanded Amiga's now, not with the Value of these components.

Steve.

Unknown_K yep you probably need a better PSU especially if you are running an 060+large amount of Mem, SCSI card + HDD and or CD/DVD rom It certainly dosn`t do any harm to have plenty of amps and a nice smooth stable voltage

so grab an old PC PSU, the old AT ones are slightly easier to mod but ATX ones can be made to work as well. Then snip the end off your current powerpack and graft it on.
I`m sure a quick search round here will produce the info you need or just start a new thread

Just out of curiosity what exactly have you got in your A1200

So in the hope it makes my PPC arrive faster I've fitted my 060 now in the Desktop and put the screws back! This will make the PPC get here sooner? Surely!

To get round the issue of the angled Simm socket on the Blizzard 1260 I've fitted some bigger feet on the A1200 that I had in my box of bits (its amazing the stuff you can find that you forgot you had!)

And its like they were made to measure, at first I thought about removing the original feet but I didn't want to damage the case, since its a nice example. So the feet are near by th old ones. Luckily, it also still fits under the desk and the Simm does not touch the desk and there is some space for the 060 to breath

I'm running a matching pair of 60ns 64mb Simms.

All in all, very pleased with this little A1200D

Good lord Steve, you certainly have big feet!

That looks good though and there's plenty of ventilation too, I think that I would maybe add some form of cover that still allows the ventilation but would stop the memory being knocked when the Amiga is moved or something like a pen for instance rolls under the 1200 and needs to be fished out. (better safe than sorry)

Lol, I guess I do!

But no idea how I'd do any sory of cover, and besides any cover would stop the nice airflow I have

I'll just have to eradicate all pens from existance

New Motherboard!

I had to replace the motherboard that I broke, thanks to Jimbo I'm now all up and running again and have finally put this back together and put the screws back in the case, she's all working perfect

Want more pics? Yeah thought so...
