A couple of points:
1. The Amiga "market" died years ago. 2. Why are we all obsessed with ports? I would love some totally new games. |

If thats so, then I imagine Amiga as a sleeping dragon and Bill Gates as the "Anti-Dragon" Knight. As for the thread: Cool! Another World on GBA. I really didnt like the official Speedball 2 release on GBA. The teams have to much colour, also overall the game is to dark - what I mean is... you cant see everything clearly. Also if you have thrown the ball 1 or 2 times to the "points duplicator" it gets erased after half time! Didnt like that too. So... An Amiga port to GBA port would have been cool. Anyway... anyone knows if the Wings GBA version is good? I heard there exists a official version of Wings for it. Last edited by Zapp_Brannigan; 06 October 2007 at 00:12. |

Can Amiga 500 games be transfered to gameboy advance
I live in Canada so I'm looking for NTSC versions of gameboy advance carts.
I like the old Amiga 500 games like: Faery Tale Adventure Rick Dangerous Rick Dangerous 2 Dark Castle Persian Gulf Inferno Lost Dutchman Mine Vampire's Empire Emerald Mine Maniac Mansion and many others. Can this be done. Can you buy a GBA cart with Amiga games on it? |

All GBA carts are compatible with all GBA systems, there are no PAL or NTSC limitations as all the games run on the same resolution LCD screen.
Unfortunately I also don't think any of these games have been ported to the GBA. If you use a GP2X or a PSP, you can emulate an Amiga and run a lot of old Amiga games. |

Visual Boy Advance is best and only emulator you'll need. Only games that will not run are some Nintendo NES remake and for those to run them on emulator you can apply patches. (not sure why would you do that when you can emulate NES ) As for those games, I haven't checked scene for a long time now, so I've no idea. |

Visual Boy Advance is really a good emulator. I have all those 'scene' releases up to about two years ago. Many good remakes of SNES games with even more colours on that platform. I was really surprised when Final Fantasy I-III was released for it. Always wanted to see the first parts of the series, but didn't bother to emulate NES at that time

There is a way to remove those intros, but I left them as that reminds me of amiga era.
Nice feature in VBA and something you don't see on many other emulators is option for map generation from the memory. (can't remember what's called) |

Final Fantasy I, II, IV, V and VI have been released for GBA. Final Fantasy III unfortunately doesn't exist with 16bit-style graphics. There is the original japanese NES-version (there exists an excellent english translation patch for it) and there is the 3D-remake for Nintendo DS. P.S. Final Fantasy VI had been previously released in the U.S. as Final Fantasy III for the SNES. But it isn't III, it's VI. Also Final Fantasy IV is there known as Final Fantasy II. That's because the real Final Fantasy II, III and V had been released in the U.S. for neither NES nor SNES. |

You're right john
I forgot if it were 1 & 2 or the first three parts that were packed on one cartridge. I know that FF6 was called FF3 in the US, so it was quite funny when FF7 was released It's a pity that FF3 was never rereleased in 16 bit. |

That would be great indeed. Maybe FF4 could be redone with the style of FF5 or better FF6 too. It looks pretty much like NES. I played it in february again and was a bit shocked that it looked that bad. Well I guess memory blurrs with the years

You're right. FF4's graphics aren't very impressive considering it's a SNES-game (I also remembered them to be better than they really are).
Since FF4 also just got a 3D-remake for DS the chances for another 2D-overhaul are about the same as for FF3... |

FF1 & 2 were released on one cartridge, and yes, naming of those games in USA sucks and gives headaches.
Last weekend I played Gunstar Super Heroes (I mentioned it in now playing topic). It is really nice game with nice mix of several different gameplays. I must try for GBA. Genesis / MD Sonic was also nice to play on the go. |

If you're into jRPG's TCD, I would recommend Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Both use a very playable innovative game mechanics, concerning mental abilities (mind reading, moving objects and a dozen more!), not to mention the Djinni "gotta catchem all!" scheme from Pokemons! |
