Maybe this joypad is best for him, my favourite was for DreamCast but everyone else don't like it.

no sarcasm the pad I posted before is a high quality rumble pad for the PC cost around 150$ 13 years ago
is far superior to megadrive pads I have 2 of them to compare another excellent pad far superior to megadrive pad is the the saitek p2600 rumble.. I have one also , but very difficult to mod it to other platforms due the complexity of the internal board |

Maybe you didn't notice that but d-pad here is also wrongly profiled. You may play some games on current-gen but not retro titles which require precision.
