DPad is considered as 2x2 "buttons" (left and right or up and down) and mapping Amiga axis to real device axis maps both directions. (imho this is what most users expect) Mapping dpad to Amiga-side button maps only single direction. Quote:

Beta 4: - keyboard input configuration didn't load correctly (was overwritten by default mappings or mappings were completely erased) - if at least one rawinput keyboard and mouse is found: skip directinput keyboard and mouse enumeration. Prevents stupid side-effects if both are used simultaneously, for example fullscreen and directinput keyboard enabled: rawinput stops getting any input (and technically directinput is less direct than rawinput, it is only good for joysticks/pads today) - fixed possible division by zero in new power led code - statefile_quit=<path> configuration file parameter added, automatically saves state to <path> when emulator is quit normally - CPU speed and advanced chipset configuration stored in statefiles - in some situations full-window mode tried to use vsync frame wait (which did nothing and caused warp-mode like speedup) - added toggle fullwindow<>fullscreen and fullwindow<>window input events - yet another sprite update, Total Perspective Vortex / Frantic background smallest sprites missed last line of data WARNING: Configuration files saved with previous 2.2 betas won't be fully compatible with later versions. Keyboard input data is handled slightly differently (no more "super" keyboard that gets all keyboard input), beta 1-3 written config files may not have all keyboards enabled if Configuration #1-#3 mode is enabled. Older configuration files should work correctly. |

Regarding my slowdown problem: it can be still reproduced with beta 4 on latest NVidia drivers (197.45). And I have noticed it happens only if triple buffering is enabled in Host/Display section, double buffering (or no buffering) seems to be fine. Which means that this problem is not really important for me anymore
(I do not yet know whether enabling the triple buffering is enough to trigger it). |

Triple buffer was the default before selection was introduced, it can't be the original reason for slowdown.

Only remaining minor issue, it seems that latest beta doesn't like AutoVsync. Even if I set it in directly in the config, it will default to Vsync (not that I think the 2 modes are truly different). I didn't try rebuilding the config from scratch (not too hot for it ). |

It could be confusing at times. Because on non-English Windows, this previously always appeared as "Maus *" (German) or "Souris *" in French, for instance. Always made it necessary to know about the user's system locale first to avoid confused looks when explaining something |

WinUAE 2.2 does not allow to add a FAT formatted ZIP disk as harddrive for preparation as Amiga boot disk. It's labelled as "OS" rather than "MBR" like in previous versions (tested 1.6.1 through 2.1). R/W switch is disabled.

As great as it is to finally have this feature, game ports remapping doesn't work for me at all. As soon as I click on "remap" WinUAE doesn't respond anymore, not even if I press F11 or F12. Anyone else encountering this issue? |

Yes, I did. I escaped by pressing the left Windows key which opened the start menu. After that WinUAE behaved as normal again except that the keyboard did not work at all, neither inside the emulation nor in the GUI. Only F12 opened the GUI, so I could quit.

Obviously it works fine here. Logs please. (unfocus/ALT-TAB always releases it if keyboard isn't working)

I hope these logs help (how much about remapping the game ports is actually logged?). Hitting Alt+Tab is exactly what I did to regain control over WinUAE.

Yet another thing I discovered some weeks ago: Playing "Fire & Ice" on a A1200 configuration with cycle-exact emulation results in very distorted sound. I normally use a WHDLoad version of the game on a A1200 configuration, but the problem also occurs with the ordinary floppy version. Configuration file and logs included.
This issue might be something you've warned against before when it comes to cycle-exact emulation, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. Thanks for all your hard work, Tony. |

Wow, 68030 cycle-exact emulation is really nice work! Can we expect the same for 040/060?
Good work!! |

I agree, it's what happened when -disableharddrivesafetycheck was not used before Toni eliminated the option, now it happens all the time. I can't write to my FAT zips either, with 2100 I can.
