LIONHEART!!! It's an AMIGA-ONLY game, it's tough as nails, graphically and musically beautiful, plays perfectly, pushes the hardware to its limits, and it has a decent story!

Defender Of The Crown.
I saw it on an A500 in a shop window as I was walking by. I was blown away by the graphics (compared to my zx spectrum). I then went straight to by bank, withdrew £500, went back to the shop and bought one. The rest, as they say, is history..... |

Yeah i am with Cammy on Lionheart, because for me its like a nordic slash and run version of Turrican 2 but technically pushes the Amiga's hardware far more, although i must say that although the music in Lionheart is nice, Huelsbeck cannot be beaten for his Turrican 2 scores

Imho the most distinctive amiga games are those of mixed genres/those which are hard to classify (smup with elements of rpg etc) Chaos Engine, SOTB 2 & 3 and Moonstone are good examples

Actually, the very first game I saw on the Amiga (1000) was Nebulus. There was just no graphics in any game like it before that. The school had bought an early A1000 for something like 2000€ (!). With the C1081(?) color monitor and all those colors and smooth movement, twinkly stars, animation... it really outshone every single computer in the school! Sadly, it only had Nebulus and Battle Chess and the Workbench demos to show it off at the time. And of course it was nice, but 2000€ in 1986 meant far and beyond what any kid could hope to own.
Definitive... the reason to get an Amiga... Amiga-Only or excelling on Amiga... well, the reason for me buying an Amiga was the game quality on another computer, the ST Not one particular game. Turrican 2 is a good choice, way ahead at the time and absorbing as hell, Amiga-only and pretty early. Exile has stolen the most hours from me Of the later ones, Worms was way ahead and awesome to play and visually brilliant. |

Yes, but Turrican II on the C64 doesn't have Hülsbeck's music. It's a very different experience on the Amiga. And it's not really a port of the C64-version but more of a parallel developed version. The Amiga-version even came out before the C64 "original".

You are right john, but it's still a Trenz game I would also say the game belongs much more to the Amiga than the C64 The first part is a C64 game ported to Amiga, while the second part absolutely 'feels' like a Amiga game (and the C64 version like the conversion )
