Two new discs, but nothing overly exciting I'm afraid - just a bit of tidying up (multi-game compilations to replace some of the single-game CDs in my collection).
First up, RGCD Arcade (Volume One) Consisting of Spatial Hyperdrive, Super Obliteration, Transplant and Wipe Out. Note that the last two games require a keyboard. And then we have the Vision Collection a compilation of Cybernetix, Kiros Quest and Microbes. Cybernetix requires a keyboard (really the spacebar should be mapped to the blue button for smart bombs in a future WHDLoad slave...), but the other two are playable on a standard CD32. Apologies for not really bringing anything new this week, and please excuse the poor covers - real life has been getting in the way again! Now if only someone could get Pinball Dreams working properly on a CD32 I would be HAPPY!
It never appears on any CD32 compilation disc. Probably too difficult to get working or something. (I thought the tables on Fantasies and Illusions were crap) |

i need to check there isnt still a bug in the Cybernoid 1 WHD slave (my bad, sorry!) which stops the 2-button mode working properly with CD32 pads.
@Heavy Stylus - If there isnt, Cybernoid 1 / 2 might make a nice 2-game compilation like your other multi-game CDs - these covers certainly look cool. I'm not sure i quite understand a CD32 "version" of a game if it requires a keyboard.... an excuse to make nice sleeves i think! @ J.Tramiel - a cd32 pad patch for Pinball Dreams is certainly possible, the keyboard code is pretty easy to find. I, unfortunately, will not be attempting to make such a patch myself anytime soon. Personally i love the other two games as well though. Does anyone know if there is any way the WHDload savedir= feature could be re-directed to save its files on NVRAM, or is this something Wepl would have to add to WHDload itself? If these disks use WHDloadCD32 , as i suspect they will, saving is disabled anyway... but it shouldnt stop those people who are WHD registered using the full version on slightly-modified CDs! |

Hey Hungry Horace,
Keyboard? Well, I only own a CD32 (it's my only Amiga) so one of the first things I got for it was an Amiga 4000 keyboard As stated previously, I make these CDs primarily for myself you see. A Cybernoid 1/2 CD is definitely on my to-do list! |

@Fingerlickin B - I'm making a racing compilation with ATR, Micro Machines, Roadkill and Turbo Trax on it. Should be done by early next week.
(Done, just need to finish the cover and upload it) Last edited by Heavy Stylus; 06 May 2009 at 09:16. |

Very nice mate, excellent site and excellent discs. With the low prices of CD's these days it wouldn't matter if 2mb was on each disk as long the content was fully playable.
Again nice work |

I don't want to be misunderstood for what i'm going to say, but wouldn't it be a better idea to keep this nice work you're doing guys on a new-brand compilation disk?
I mean, it's kinda waste to keep one CD just for one or two games that barely would fit in a fistful of megs... And quite a burden to have disks and disks around. In my humble oppinion a compliation disk for every genre of game would be more than enough. By the way, would it be possible a CD32 version of the title "OnEscapee"? Cheers! |

I do love the style of the covers, they are very well done.
I still disapprove of the "Unofficial Amiga CD32 Conversion By Heavy Stylus" comments next to each game. To the untrained eye it looks like you did all the hard work when it was infact the hard work of Wepl, the other WHDload contributors and those who did the custom HD conversions you use. You didn't convert them, you compiled them. "Unofficial WHDloadCD32 based ISO Compiled By Heavy Stylus" Shame that the WHDloadCD32 cannot re-map keyboard keys to controller buttons. It would be great to be able to define a keyboard->PAD map within the tooltypes. Last edited by alexh; 05 May 2009 at 21:24. |

It sounds difficult to remap the keys since the input comes from a different line (POTGO vs keyboard). You would need an emulator for this
However I'm not sure it's not possible to simulate a keypress from a joystick input by writing in CIA regs??? I'm no CIA expert. Whdload uses VBR relocation and could check joypad state at each VBLANK without problems like it does for QUITKEY. ATM the only way is that the slave does the job. But it's specific to each game, even if some solution could be found for kickemu games (those games have greater chance to run on a CD32 WITHOUT whdload though ) |
