Whales Voyage AGA ?

So it end its just extra RAM what A1200 is being utilised in Whales Voyage? same as with Hired Guns on A1200 where it enabled something sound related too.

I would also say it's about some extra gadgets, nothing that affects gameplay. Like Retro said the extra ingame screens might be in AGA mode. Let's hear what StingRay finds out about it

in case there is still a question of concerning the diskbox: i have a german original (manual german and english, 7 floppies), and the sticker on my box says: super enhanced amiga 1200 (like the picture above). one of the better austrian games of the amiga area :-).

why is this game MIA? it is not even rare. the manual says: "this is an enhanced version of this excellent game. the only extra command for the a1200 enhanced version is the facility to toggle between music and sound in the 3d section by pressing M."

Well, if this is the only enhancement, I wouldn´t call it "super enhanced".
But maybe it´s just an extra command and they didn´t mention AGA graphics for example.

yes, i think its just the only extra command, and NEO of course made lots of improvements on various parts of the game. otherwise they wouldn´t call it "super enhanced"... or would they? :-)

Anyone for preserving AGA version ?

Sorry for gravediggin but I'm currently ripping this game, for SPS, I bought retail with the same box with that sticker on as you guys described above. I'm confused, is it pointless?

The one I have is cracked by Fairlight and on the crack loading screen you are prompted to press the RMB for ECS PAL/NTSC toggle?

Edit: One thing I have noticed is that on the ECS version you just get the PLEASE STAY TUNED - GAME LOADING. but on the AGA/super enhanced version

you get a picture of a spaceship.

Edit2: The Super Enhanced version runs on the A600 config with 2mb chip. Now if it also runs on a real Amiga 500/600 with 2mb chip then my guess is it's not AGA

Edit3: Ok, just had a look at the manual and it says:

Amiga 1200: This is an enhanced version of this excellent game.

The only extra command is the facility is to toggle between the Music and SFX in the 3D section of the game by pressing M

So I would definitely say no AGA.

Well.. who wouldn't want a spaceship instead?! I ripped it and uploaded it to the SPS servers.. lets see if they want it.. at least it shouldn't be marked as MIA anymore . I lost the manual so its hard to play.. actually after I ripped it today I tried to install it to HD and fired it up and actually guessed the password right the first time (figured "you" would be in the manual quite a few times and it was) !! However the graphics got messed up probably due to 060 etc so I couldn't see much
