I have personally found, using PFS3 gave me lots of wierd WHDLoad errors. Going back to FFS or SFS, fixed them. |

Hmmm thinking of it...
maybe its caused by the New 64 bit Fast File filesystem that 3.5/3.9 uses. It´s just a guess, but maybe.. just maybe...hmmmm |

Hello, yes i had a similar problem with sotb3 a couple of years ago, that i posted here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=60253.
The screen freezes when pressing any key while the music continues. As far as i remember, i was not able to find a solution and ended up playing it on the A600 instead... Depending on how much time you want to invest, you could try another wb version (3.1), check whd options and maybe try different game disks/images. Good luck and dont get frustrated. Getting those old games to work is half the fun! |

AH, i quote myself Thinking of it.... All the games have the same problem when i use the ramdisc, so i dont know if the "new" Fast file system from OS3.5 / 3.9 is really the problem... hmmm There must be something else.... |

Thanks Vegas. But you know, when you tryed pretty much every Tooltype and nothing works, its pretty frustrating. Besides.. like in SOTB3 , everytime i press a button on the keyboard it resets my machine.. so , can you imagine how tedious that is But thanks for the good spirit |

I thought about the games that resets the Amiga when i press a key on the keyboard.
This games reset if i press any key ( besides the Quit key ) Maybe it is caused by the MICRONIC Keyboard interface. I use it on both of my expanded Amiga CD32 consoles. So, what do you think, is it a possibility that the Micronic Keyboard interface is the troublemaker ? You know, inside is an Amiga1200 keyboard, pluged to a "microcontroller or something" from the german firm Micronic, and it ends with an old "PC plug". The "really weird thing" is that when i press the CAPS LOCK key the Amiga Cd32 resets also. So i used MCP´s funktion NO CAPS LOCK KEY. What do you think guys ? Should i change the Keyboard ? PS: the keyboard in the picture have a small plug, mine has a fat plug ( i think its called PC-AT plug ) Last edited by Nibbler; 27 January 2015 at 17:56. Reason: posting photo |

I don`t think so. But you can check with on of the key (test) tools if there happens something strange. On the other hand you should notice problems already on WB and other programms, not only under WHDLoad.
Did you run a WHDLoad game after booting without S-S to check if that makes a different? If you have another keyboard to test, try it. |

The games that resets the machine ( for example SOTB2/SOTB3/LEANDER ) have trouble with non original Keyboard input !!!! For example, my Buddy has an A-3000 with an Adapter, so he can use a PC keyboard. ( same problem ) I have an Amiga CD32 with an Elsat Promodule and a Amiga CD32 with a SX32-Pro. All have the same "reset" problem. You press any key ( besides the quit key ) BAM, reset !!!! It has nothing do do with WHDLOAD !!!! Dosen´t matter if you use the Floppy Disks, JST installer , WHDLOAD installer. It´s all caused by those "PC to AMIGA" interfaces !!! So, that´s that. !! It´s not WHDLOAD´s fault. Have you tried whdload with "novbrmove"/"notraphandler" ? there's a slight chance that it fixes something. Well, if running from floppies crash then, we have a big problem.
funny that quitkey works, though... |

Now i know.
The games that resets the machine ( for example SOTB2/SOTB3/LEANDER ) have trouble with non original Keyboard input !!!! Maybe you're right, but I have an amiga 1200 (not commodore, amiga technologies) with GVP 030 / 24 MB and i get these type of problems. For example in many games quit key doesnot work and in shadow of the beast 3, when i try to switch items using the "F" keys, the system crushes... Maybe my keyboard is faulty to the 'grey' keys... |

Is there some games where the keyboard work within whdload?
It's only on some games? As a workaround I'd suggest that you get a joypad and use the slaves that have been upgraded to avoid keyboard usage (there are a lot of them). I remember adapting the joypad to SOTB3 JST version and it worked without KB on a CD32. Oh,and the "legit key" problem is now gone with whdload 18.2: no need for a keyfile anymore to get full features! |
