Hello!
Alien Breed 3D Rolling Demo and the playable demo are in the zone! Again: Is it possible to "extract" the textures to use them in the final release? |

WOW!
I just played the demo and found out that there is a walker in REAL 3D! It´s not in the final version! Shame on Team 17! |

@ keropi:
It works fine on 060 Amiga without caches! What WinUAE config do you use? |

mhh...
Try 040 cpu and select no cpu caches in the boot menu. Then boot without startup-sequence and use amiga dos to start demo. |

viddi - I think that walker (or one very much like it) is in the released game as one of the level bosses. It fires grenades I think.

It would be AWESOME to have a "new" version of AB3D using the original feel, gfx, etc. even if the game engine has been superceded on the Amiga.

Oh yes, please!!
I´m not a programmer (a bit AMOS doesn´t count ) but it shouldn´t be too hard. Many hacks were done on AB3D. (sound, codes, trainer...) But someone must extract the demo exe.file. |

We can but hope... Sadly the reality is that it's not just a case of programming it. The levels would have to be designed too. Perhaps this is just gonna be one of those "if only" scenarios.
I'd still like to hear what others think when comparing the playable demo to the released game. |

Mhh... I just thought of changing the textures or texture-files.
Maybe the rest is done automatically? |

Does anyone know if the original Alien Breed 3D playabledemo is available anywhere else? I imagine it is similar to the rolling-demo that was on an Amiga Format cover disk at some point. |

PPA got in their game demos section three alien breed 3d demos: rolling demo with green aliens, playable demo with green aliens and late playable demo with final version of monsters/textures and guns pictures. It was like bonus map.

Yes I like the second demo with the green aliens and great atmosphere. That was edited by a New Zealand to run on ECS intuition screen and runs on a Amiga 3000. The only problem with this version is that you don't know your health or ammo level as that bit wasn't carried over. I think the 2nd demo might have the fastest engine for the standard A1200.
I'm amazed he could that out of a 14mhz computer . A work of art |

I still wish that the released version had more of the feel of that playable demo with the green aliens. I do enjoy playing the released version but I would have loved more levels like how the demo feels/plays and with those green aliens.

I totally agree with this. As much as I enjoyed the final game, I do felt it missed the atmosphere and aesthetics of the demo.
