Well, I'm buying the external one because I'm down one modulator for one of my 500s (lost many years ago)

And the internal one... Well, why not.. lol.. Something a little different

Plus the s-video out will be useful for when I want to test something quickly and don't want to go behind the TV to plug it in, since I have s-vid in on the front of my TV

@alexh

I am getting one as it is an all-in-one solution (although no amiga rgb port pass-thru or component...), not available elsewhere, and it is needed for easy quick testing of my big box amigas. I have no a520 modulator, but this is so much better!

Also in Oz it is hard to get TVs with SCART unless you go for an expensive european import when japanese stuff is so cheap here.

And the side benefit is it may encourage future KeWL projects.

@Zetr0

Just to confirm above: 1 narmi external deluxe PAL+NTSC switchable fully assembled one for me. If it costs more than you stated for the extra switchable bit (i.e. extra labour), that is fine.

No internal one as I don't want to solder onto my motherboard seeing as I would want it to be removable still, and I don't trust my soldering skills.

In the UK/Europe you just get out your RGB->SCART cable and voila.

Again, use RGB SCART cable?

In my case I have a Mediator with Voodoo card, so in order to display non-rtg games I put my composite out through a pci TV card fitted in my Mediator. Its not a bad result, but I#m hopeful using the TV card's S-video will improves the display.

hello,

mainly, the same as Angus.

A PAL on svga connector have maybe more possibility than on the 23 pins amiga connector. no db23 adaptator required.

How much do those RGB to SCART cables fetch then???
Around £10 on eBay I would rather have one of these things
I have only 1 RGB to scart and only got it recently.

But they are ready assembled!

In kit form (as here) you could get one for much less.

Those £10+ Amiga RGB SCART cables are a bit of a rip off. I've seen them advertised in bulk for as little as $1.98 ;-)

All you need is to find 50 like minded people, or Amiga Kit?

The connector at the front of the TV, and the TV card use cases sound good strong cases and make me feel that Zetro will get good orders from non US people.

Yeah, I dont think they had any other purpose other than Amiga. (Just like 13-pin DIN on Atari ST!)

You can cut down a 25-pin connector in under a minute with wire cutters and a small file though.

I have a commercial genlock with fader thingy and the genlock has a 25 pin connector which looks like its been hack sawed down and not a very neat job either and that was a retail unit! (either that or I got ripped)

The 8 pin din on the MegaDrive is odd too, the 1 pin is slightly outta line for some odd reason,

WHY OH WHY do they do it

@Pyro....

HDMI huh? LOL that will be a little expensive LOL

@all
I have not been able to keep to my schedule on this.. time with work, being ill and family have been taunt to say the lest... also waiting on components and some tools..

but i have not given up and well get an order in soon... there is an update to the board that makes it switchable between ntsc and pal. so there is only one external model.

the internal one has been revised a little and will be updated here soon ..

prices should (fingers crossed) go down

Seems like I'm not too late! Great to hear you're not giving up on this and have even updated the design! Keep it up and count me in for an external one!

Hello,

I think zetro can't arrive to give the hardware for all (need free time and motivation). I'm on the top of the list since weeks and lots other persons after (I think) and I don't think he will have all the hardware (amiga 23 pins connectors, for example) spare parts and time to make the hardware, for all the requests.

IMHO zetrO must update his "customers" list to all and maybe finish to take commands because he is not an hardware manufacturer, (of course all is just IMHO).

@mrodrf

I am going to have the external boards made by futurlec (www.futurlec.com) this will take the most time consuming part take care off...

I will put in for an order of them, this week infact... I should get the boards by Christmas.. I will be buying the crystals / AD724's and 23 pin connectors on Monday for those requested here...

I will make the external units first then make another order for those that want internal units....

I have 4 units to finish here... these are spoken for,...

1 external for Charlie
1 external for DrF
1 external for Methanoid
1 external for mrodfr

the next batch with printed boards will be the following
  • Keropi
  • Paul s
  • Agnus
  • Adonay
  • Binox
  • cane
  • bobsmith2012
  • calgor
  • Flashlab
  • digit01

did i miss anyone?
