Here is Alone in the Dark Enhanced CD-ROM for Mac

This was released in 1996 i.e. 4 years after the original; has better graphics and possibly other things

So just download / extract this archive into "C:\WinUAE".

Thing is, the .TOAST image of the CD-ROM is supposed to be dual Windows and MAC formats.

I can mount in Daemon Tools and see it in Windows; usually I can't with any MAC CD-ROM.

Problem is that no MAC emulator i.e. Basilisk II for Windows or Shapeshifter recognise the mounted .TOAST image.

Doesn't matter anyway, this game will require a MAC PowerPC; and these are not supported in either MAC emulator...

Hmmm, decided to change "Details Level: Low" --> "Details Level: High" for both "Alone in the Dark [RTG] [ShapeShifter]" & "Alone in the Dark (Enhanced CD-ROM) [RTG] [ShapeShifter]".

Also took a new screenshot for "Alone in the Dark (Enhanced CD-ROM) [RTG] [ShapeShifter]":

Finally, decided to rename "Alone in the Dark Enhanced CD-ROM [RTG] [ShapeShifter]" --> "Alone in the Dark (Enhanced CD-ROM) [RTG] [ShapeShifter]". This way both "Alone in the Dark [RTG] [ShapeShifter]" & "Alone in the Dark (Enhanced CD-ROM) [RTG] [ShapeShifter]" are next to each other in the list of games

So, please do the following:

Delete the configuration file "C:\WinUAE\Configurations\Alone in the Dark Enhanced CD-ROM [RTG] [ShapeShifter].uae" (if you previously downloaded / applied this).
Delete the <gamedir> "C:\WinUAE\Games\Alone in the Dark Enhanced CD-ROM MAC RTG" (if you previously downloaded / applied this).
Download / extract this archive into "C:\WinUAE".

Old Amiga fan, I was using my own configs and files until my HDD crashed couple of weeks ago. I was wondering how I could have access to your amazing work?
By the way: do you have english versions of the games or also international ones?

Mainly English if I'm honest, but there are a few other language games when there's no English version available.

I did not lost everything but lots of the config files and many of my favourite games. Luckily, they are the easiest to find on the Web.

It depends really.

I mean, there's no point me adding in a French adventure game e.g. The Short Grey; or a German strategy game e.g. Kingdoms of Germany, as I'd have no idea what's going on.

Yes 128MB just to be sure; though the game only requires 64MB.

You can only use 1MB ROMs with Basilisk II and ShapeShifter... so I use the "Quadra 950.rom".

Yeah I tried with a Quadra 950 and it wasn't having any of it, used a Performa 630 and it was in colour.

...I've deleted everything now i.e. the "MAC OS 8.1" .HFV and the "Escape Velocity Nova" .HFV files that I created.

I redo tomorrow and see if all working in Basilisk II first.

Do you know if the can also use the Performa 630 ROM in ShapeShifter?

I can't see why not it is a 1MB rom like the 950. Can give it ago and see.

Did you tick the MacOS 8 mode in Shapeshifter GUI?
Performa 580/588 ROM with MacOS 8.1 works for me.

How did I miss that option under "Miscellaneous"?

...but when I boot my .HFVs, the MAC OS is only in greyscale and I'm unable to view the whole 800x600 in WinUAE:

Ok, set the display back to 640x480 and also managed to set 256 colors

Next problem is my "EV_Nova.hfv" doesn't show up, need to recheck things...

Also "Escape Velocity Nova" requires a resolution of 800x600 or the screen is cut. Not sure how I'll get around this.
