Syntheticsw: Here are some more sprites from Creatures lvl 1. Still cant find the map tiles>will try again later.Has anyone tried ripping from Rubicon,I tried last night but couldn`t get much out of it,can anyone help.+ more chuck rock sprites

I begin my works on Alien Breed2, but I stuck, I am trying to rip player characters - the best result I got is this one, I dont know how to join these 2 bitmaps :-/ x-to's page is unavailable :-/

If anybody wants to help me with ABSE and AB2 - uss files are in the zone

the Breed 2 sprites are simple, simply save them without the separator and it'll auto join em

Then use a screenshot and PSP to fix pallette

When you goto the save screen simply leave the "border around" option at 0

Also you haven't set the bitplanes right.. the screen should look like this:

x_to, pls help me :-) I am trying to rip everything from ABSE, I have all animated things ripped out. But In game is also huge map, and I dont know how to rip it, I thought that map consists from tiles, but I cant find tiles anywhere in USS file, i dont know how to find it out. Do you have any hints ? (I pasted ABSE uss file to the zone)

I managed to find some background tiles, they are 16x16 pixels and 5 bitplanes in Amiga mode!

Goto offset: 890416

I'll post the pic if you cannot find

Edit:

Forget that, the offsets above are for AB2 not ABSE!!

Anyway I have found the ABSE map tiles but I can't find the palette so it makes it difficult to see!

Anyway same details as above but goto offset: 845300

I uploaded most of the last rips here to ASRP:

Please look if they are correct ( correct palette, correct Name of
the Files and so on ). I don't only want to have just a collection of
sprites ripped from games, but i want to have Quality Rips :-)

Next time please also send me the rips directly to wizard@syntheticsw.com

The problem with Attachments here is, that i have to figure out what
format they are and so on.

it seems that the problems are solved yourself...

and please dudes...send the whole rips together with the bmp files to our project as possible as you can...

we gave you much help (tutorials), but we can only support your needs if you help us...

at moment our team consists of only 2 members...syntheticsw and me


thats really poor when you look how much the interest of such a project is
...

I'll do what I can, mostly I just rip as and when I get the time, but I'm more than interested in a proper website!!!

The sprites are fine, they actually look like that in-game (its that macho 80's arnie look!!)

z_to @ bippym: I have ripped Alien Breed 2 fully (tiles and animated sprites), I am now looking how to find tiles pallete for ABSE :-/ pls check it if you find any clues how to solve it, tiles are at 845300 and size 16x16, also gfxrip should be updated more :-) adding "save position" will be very great!

Right I have been doing some thinking and I think we need to come up with some basic RULES that need following for sprites/tiles etc to be included!!

Post your ideas guys then once established I am going to lock this thread and start a new one (this one is getting large and ugly now).

The new thread will be for sprites ripped using the rules specified.. any that don't stick to those rules I'll delete!!

Here are a few rules I reckon we should keep.

1). Transparency (or magenta colour) is set to on (B in the sprite ripper)
2). Only complete sets of sprites are posted, and they are posted to the zone, with a quick mock (or 1 tile/sprite set) posting in the thread
3). Once a sprite/map gfx is added to the sprites web sythetics or x_to pm me and I will edit the users post, delete the sprite/gfx proof and note (in say red) that it has been added
4). all ripped gfx files have a common sense filename that includes the following info:

Game Name_Level_SubLevel_MAPSPRITENAME.png

for example

Leander_enemy1 is not really descriptive
but
Leander_Lev1-1_DogEnemy1 is perfect
4). All gfx from a level are in a subfolder with the level name
5). ONLY PNG gfx are accepted (Convert them huge BMPs)
6). Get the rip RIGHT!! makesure you are careful about your ripping, we don't want erraneous pixels above/below the sprite do we! check and then double check. Also makesure you get the palette looking right, if you are not sure use PSP and manually edit it!!
7). With the exception of Sprites, all rips must have a border around (especially map tiles) them. Some games (turrican 2, Warzone etc..) join 2+ sprites together to make 1 bigger sprite, these need saving without the border to look right

any thoughts on this guys??


edit: I forgot too mention, when I lock this thread I'll be deleting ALL sprite/map/gfx rips, if there is anything that isn't included guys then get it sorted like... now!

I think that it would be great to have a new thread with full rips but why PNG format only? I agree that the magenta transparency should be used (I know that I`m a pain in the ass cos I never used it when posting all the sprites on here!!) I really can`t see any problems with the proposed rules as these would make things simple for all of us.
