powerslide, mad trax and the rollcages i had, the others i will look into, thanks for the suggestion!
i was referring to new games tough and something with actual cars: i would like a sort of Gran Turismo for PC, with the same Intro/gui/background/ encumbrance that Lotus 1 had

Absolutely agree. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it in the past but Outrun 2006 is - for me - the best racing game on the PS2 (at least) by a country mile.

Give it a go Marco, you'll love it.

I agree Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast (PS2) is the awesomeness! It just flows with that fluid style, very similar to the old lotus games - tons of fun

I bought Prey for 10 euros online, but I haven't even finished it. It is more repetitive than FEAR! The portals are very cool, as is the walking on walls and ceilings, but other than that it gets boring really quickly.

I've been playing Oblivion again. If you try hard enough, the game can actually be fun and a little challenging Quite rare actually, a game where you have to make an effort to make it more difficult :s

Sometimes feels like an eternity to level up, specially if you need more heavy armour points, i mean who wants to take a beating? Worst thing i did on oblivion was introduce my girlfriend to it. I spent 2 hours gazing over her shoulder at the character creation screen.

I don't mind if leveling takes a while but my main problem with the game is the whole level scaling idea. Everything around you levels while you do, it's retarded.

I've recently tried some Amiga games again in the Gamebase collection...

Are you kidding me? In the elder scrolls games it is only too easy to level up.

Magic: take a spell with low mana cost (create one that costs like 3 mana) and keep casting until you level up. You may think this is lame, but for most schools of magic you have no other choice. Mysticism and illusion spells you only cast rarely for example, so there is no leveling up the right way.

Restorating is a hard one to level up in Oblivion the lame way because it is only really effective when you actually heal something; if you try to cast it over and over while fully healed it takes forever to gain a level. So do so while improving your armor skill by taking a beating from a rat.

Weapons: these are automatic, you fight so much in the games that these go to 100 first.

armor: find a rat and just let it beat your ass. All you have to do is cast a healing spell every now and then and the odd 'cure disease' spell, potion or scroll. In Oblivion this is rediculously easy because your mana regenerates quickly and most classes have a default healing spell or skill. You can improve block in exactly the same way.

sneak: find a room with an NPC and start sneaking! In Morrowind this was even easier because you did not have to move around to succesfully sneak, in oblivion they fixed it by forcing you to move to get the credit. What they gave in return is the ability to move fast while sneaking, so you can do it in dungeons without being irritated that it takes ages to get anywhere.

security: 75% of the chests/doors/gates are locked, if you figure out how to do the unlocking minigame without failing (so easy) this is a breeze to level up.

mercantile: you will have large amounts of little things in this game. Do not sell them all at once, sell them one at a time. This will make your mercantile skill fly through the roof. The use of this skill is very limited however, since it is so easy to get money in any of the games.

speechcraft: playing the linked minigame tends to level up this skill very quickly, so no problems here.

alchemy: this is a bitch to level up, but who needs it anyway.

Armorer is a bitch to level up also, but it is so easy to travel in Oblivion that its use is rather limited, except for the fact that it multiplies your endurance bonus during level ups, but so does block.

Creating an uber-powered character in Oblivion is too easy, especially with the warped difficulty system.
