I am stuck with Radeon now, anytime I plug it to the Amiga, I get flashing RED screen. When I exchange it with Voodoo then no problem and boot continues. I am using Radeon 9200 256 MB. Also I removed all cards from PCI and Zorro, still RED screen flashing. Giving up now, will try during weekend when I get better mood and read some more manuals.

I see what you did there, your model of Radeon is not supported by sonnet.library. Currently only Radeon models with ID $5960 and $5C63 are supported, as you can read here (see "hardware" section).
Possibly adding support for your model of Radeon won't be that difficult. |

At least finding another Radeon 9200 shouldn't be very hard or expensive, they usually cost only $25USD or so. I'd recommend looking for a card from Sapphire.
Or if you're willing to live dangerously you could try to flash the BIOS of the Radeon card to one of the compatible models. Last edited by grelbfarlk; 25 February 2017 at 00:17. Reason: One more bad suggestion |

Well the bios on your card is probably from a PC or possibly a Mac. By flashing a different BIOS from a card which has the correct PCIID, it might work. Or you may find that you can't find a compatible BIOS for your card. I had to do the same on one of my 256MB Radeons, it wasn't recognized by the Mediator at all.
Then on the first BIOS I tried only 128MB was available of 256MB, but the next BIOS I tried all 256MB was available, though I think Elbox eventually fixed the issue where both 128MB banks were available. There is a certain amount of risk you will pick a very wrong BIOS which won't let you reflash and then it's basically broke. But that's probably not very likely to happen. The ATIFlash tool should let you backup your BIOS before you flash a new one. Also you might have the option if you have a 256MB card to flash with 128MB version so you can put more RAM on the Sonnet. You'll need to do the flashing in a PC. Not my fault if you break your card, as I said it is living dangerously. |

AFAIR on Amiga 68k the Radeon's BIOS is never even started, it just sits there and the whole GPU bringup is done by the AmigaOS driver (radeon.card). Note that that on next-gen machines Radeon BIOS typically is executed at the firmware level (both ACube's U-Boot and Genesi OpenFirmware include x86 emulators for this purpose). |

The actual BIOS data yes, but on the Mediator none of the BIOS is actually used to bring up the display on bootup. The part that IS used however is reading the Vendor and Device string which I'm pretty sure is written to the BIOS. On Wintel machines you need the BIOS to start a basic display for the motherboard BIOS to start.
Maybe I should say ROM instead of BIOS. I figured that was the only way the ATI Radeon BIOS editors could work, some of the variables they let you change are the Vendor and Device ID. Of course this will not work if you change it to Device ID from 9200 to 9250, or some combination that the driver is expecting one GPU and tries to load another-but I doubt anything that sophisticated is going on. I think the BIOS may control memory speed or some such as well. One tool like this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/deta...os_editor.html I'm not recommending trying to edit the BIOS but just find an archive of the BIOS (here I go again) or ROM of one of the well supported cards. |

@starship
Please give me the VendorID and DeviceID of the Radeon card (or give me the output of pciinfo). I guess this particular card is not supported (yet), seeing the error you are getting. |

To get rid of the unknowns. Install vendor.txt in S: (it's on the Elbox site)
Busy with an update. Check Git tomorrow Last edited by Hedeon; 26 February 2017 at 00:23. |

I added $5964 as being supported. I still recommend getting a Voodoo3 card as 3DFX cards are the only ones supporting Warp3D. Also Radeon cards use up a lot of the available PCI memory space. Only 128MB remains for the sonnet (so 192MB on the sonnet will be seen as 128MB).
