First! I have no Problem with Emulation.....!! And I don´t want to discuss this here, because it is offTopic

This License does not allow the AmigaOS to exist on more than one computer at a time. This license allows you to install or operate the AmigaOS only on a computer system that had a version of AmigaOS installed on it at the time you acquired such computer system, which was especially prepared for running AmigaOS through the use of a dedicated (flash)rom or similar mechanism or for which a legitimate version of AmigaOS was or is available

This sounds not realy for the allowance to run it on a modern Computer

@Rotzloeffel:

It's the same license as for 3.5/3.9. H&P were aware I was using it under emulation and did not have any issue with that. The relevant part being "or for which a legitimate version of AmigaOS was or is available". AmigaOS XL and Amithlon are examples of these, hence there cannot be any problem with emulation.

OK fine, they don't want me as a customer.

@Gorf:

Those requirements don't have to be met; there is an "or" later in the sentence.

I admit I am not a native speaker, but the "or" on this sentence does not make the requirements void, in my understanding.

But please explain: what does this sentence mean?

The way I read it there are two options, like so:

"This license allows you to install or operate the AmigaOS only on a computer system that

had a version of AmigaOS installed on it at the time you acquired such computer system, which was especially prepared for running AmigaOS through the use of a dedicated (flash)rom or similar mechanism

or

for which a legitimate version of AmigaOS was or is available."

I have inserted some linefeeds to help show the clauses, nothing else has been changed.

And is this the case for my Mac?

Amiga Forever supports Mac, so yes.

Note that there is nothing in there requiring you to use the same version that is or was available. So there is nothing wrong with using other, better emulation packages.

CrossRef tooling for an AmigaOS 3.2 NDK.

May I kindly suggest to include something like xref_v1.1.lha, which was a great help in the creation of tooling for development purposes?

It scans the Autodocs, Includes, AmigaGuides and UNIX man pages and cross-references them, using a binary format, that is fast. It's library understands ARexx.

A typical application was to have GoldEd show the synopsis for a function/definition of a constant in a seperate pane below the text, when hovering over the function/constant, also adding completion, afair.

I just discovered a review on Aminet I had written back then (didn't know, it existed, lol), which gives a bit more info.

MultiView & MagicMenu

Yes! For me, Multiview is one of the holy grails of AmigaOS! It would be nice to have a, backwards compatible, revision, that adds stability and, maybe, new features.

It would be nice to have MagicMenu rebuilt 1:1 as part of Workbench/Intuition, minus the graphical config, which could be added later on. I especially like the keyboard navigation, the stickyness and the availability of the menu with right-mouse button click.

Another thing I have noticed with OS 3.1.4 is that its icon library seems to be incompatible with software like CondenseIcon and NewIconEmu.

And in planar Workbench screens, the MWB icon colors change horridly when the user changes the Workbench backdrop, after the user has chosen MagicWB colors in Workbench preferences.

Are these bugs being fixed on OS 3.2?

EDIT: Will OS 3.2 have support for the mouse wheel on GadTools and Reaction without the need for FreeWheel installed?

That's not always possible.

How do you want to differentiate Markdown from plain text, from ORG mode, or even CSV, etc.?

I have never seen such good filetype recognition systems, as on the Amiga, on any other platform. This includes Dopus, datatypes.library and, I remember having used something like a 'filetypes.library'.

Reliable filetype recog must always allow for an heuristic approach, needing as much information as possible. It is true, that a file ending on '.html' may be any of the many HTML variants, that existed, it could be HTML in XML serialization (XHTML), it could be HTML5 and so on. But this is when your routine should branch out and test for stuff like DOCTYPE declarations, namespaces, and so on. Something like '.md' or '.txt' should be pretty obvious and not cost additional processor time.

Besides that, on the Amiga, reading the filetype magic has always been a thing at many places. Not like on Windows.... ;-)

@Leandro Jardim:

Applications can already hear mouse wheel actions as keypresses and respond appropriately according to circumstances. Eg. in some circumstances an application might want to change which row of a listbrowser is selected, in others it may want to scroll the listbrowser.

I have an Amiga 600 with furia and these have not played well together for me. There was a firmware released 12.8 which was supposed to fix this but didn't for me. 13 was just release which has some fixes specifically oriented towards 3.1.4. I didn't realize until later reading amiga future that 3.1.4.1 had an update scsi.device driver that should have been more compatible but you have to get 3.1.4 first install. Having an option for a fresh install of 3.1.4.1 as complete install would have been nice. Also have a CD-ROM option would be great for my Amiga CD32. Maybe someway we can pair with BestWB?

Hmmm, can't say I've had that issue. Are you sure you have enough colours available, and that your icon colour precision is higher than that of the backdrop? If not, the backdrop will be a higher priority and will steal pens from the icons. That's just a side-effect of not having enough free pens.
