Here in the UK you have to recycle any electronic parts as the bin men wont take them.
There is also organisations that take all the old stuff, make computers out of them and donate them to third world countries. |

This is Australia and while there are some organisations that do an excellent job, some people just don't care and they throw out all sorts of stuff. I paid about $50 to have my old CRT monitors recycled which most people would think is daft but it keeps my conscience clear knowing I did my bit to stop them going to landfill.

Yes you are. Anyway, we do have boards available, although premium packages are already sold out again: http://webstore.kryoflux.com/catalog

When I double click the GUI.JAR file, it brings up a DOS window for a split second and then closes, what am I doing wrong?
DTC works and will read disks. |

Do you have the latest version of Java installed? If so, try uninstalling and reinstalling it...

Maybe the wrong one is on your path for some reason....
Okay, please open a command line, cd to the kryoflux-ui.jar direcrory, and run the following two commands and tell me what you see: 1) java -version 2) java -jar kryoflux-ui.jar |

It works when I type the latter entry, so is it better for me to make a batch file to call the program or is there something else I can do, or even update the path;
Path E:\patches\kryoflux\dtc\ add |

Okay, well that is something anyway.
When you double-click on a JAR file, it executes the command 'javaw.exe'. You can go to your filetypes and make sure the right javaw.exe is associated with JAR files. The javaw.exe may be in your windows/system32 directory. You can find out if that is the Sun/Oracle one by right-clicking and seeing it's properties. If it's not. You can grab the one from the C:\Program Files\Java\JRE\bin directory and stick it there. Alternatively, you can prefix your path variable in your system properties with the JRE's bin directory. I don't know what is up with your JRE though... Seems a bit stuffed. I'd recommend uninstalling any version, rebooting, reinstalling. Even without that, hopefully something here will fix your immediate problems. |
