Did you notice the guy who ports it to Amiga?

In A.org there is a discussion thread right now...

What a great topic for my first post here. Of games that were at least rumored to have been worked on:

Colonial Conquest (SSI, easily #1)

Buck Rogers: Matrix Cubed (SSI)
Shiloh: Grant's Trial in the West (SSI)
Sons of Liberty (SSI)
Wasteland (Interplay/EA)

Of games that weren't even rumored, I still would have love to have seen good conversions of SSI's Rails West!, Imperium Galactum, and Geopolitique 1990...actually the entire SSI catalog would've been good. Also, never released on any platform: the third game in SSI's Roadwar 2000 trilogy and the third game in Sierra's Manhunter trilogy.

Hi Carl,

welcome to the EAB! There is a lot of mischief to get into around here (courtesy of Zetr0 ) so have fun!

I too would really love to see the Buck Rodgers II version for the Amiga. There must have been some review versions, since there are some reviews out there. Maybe one day one of these versions shows up anywhere (or maybe someone here knows where to get it ).

Paradroid.

I mean a proper version, in PAL overscan at 50fps, not some half-assed ST conversion.

I agree 100%. Paradroid is one of my favourite 64 games but I think the Amiga version is pants. I also wished there was a proper version of Lode Runner for the Amiga. I've just today learned of a couple of clones so I can't complain to loudly. Another one that I think would have been great on the Amiga is Yie Ar Kung Fu. I've got a soft spot for that beat 'em up.

I guess my 64 roots are showing. There really aren't that many modern games that grab me. I've got nostalgia-coloured glasses.

I haven't checked all the pages..but I would say these,

Buck Rogers: Matrix Cubed (SSI) - agree with this.
XCOM - Terror from the Deep - Should have been done.
Heroquest Keller's Keep Expansion - Would have been nice.
Masters of Magic - Possibly..
Flashback 2, Flashback Legends - Not Fade to Black... No, No..
Jagged Alliance - Would have been good..
Eye of the Beholder 3 - Hmmm.. maybe, not impressed with PC version so far..
Raiden - agree good choice, especially FM-Towns version.

Others, maybe Diablo or some Star Wars game... was there any? I actually liked Paradroid 90 except for there being no save..

Pinball illusions Viking Table... interesting, the company thought the table was so bad they didn't include it in the Amiga Version. Only came out for the PC.

Mega lo Mania was good, but when you get nukes it was just the case of who fired first. I thought there was better games.

Also, Heart of the Alien (the sequel to Another World, only released for Sega CD) would be cool as well.. it's not that great, Another World is much, much better.. but I'd still think it had been cool with an Amiga version.
As a game I'll take Flashback over both of them. They were creative, graphically impressive, but nothing compared to Flashback. A proper classic along with Prince of Persia 1.

More Chess Games.

The weakest point of Amiga for me is Chess.
I'm not 100% sure, but there's some Zx-Spectrum games (like Cyrus 2) that could beat any Amiga. I still can play them with ZX-Live.

I didnt tried yet Psion Chess for Atari ST, but I never understood why Chess Games for 68000 are so crap.

Did you ever try Colossal/Colossus Chess? It was pretty good. It was for the AtariST, maybe for the Amiga too. I can't remember exactly.

Give it a try, I liked it. If you set the AI high then it will become slower but.. it was a good game if you liked Chess.

Tie Fighter was the first PC game I bought. It was great with a joystick. Terror from the Deep was great too, and Jagged Alliance. Good Times
