Strangely enough, with the last 1.7 version I still have the slight graphics errors during the game itself. Tested on Amiga A1200 -V1200 - Kick/WB 3.2.1. I will soon test it on other hardware. Intro and opening credits work fine again with the last 1.7 version.

One piece of information that might help - with ScummVM 1.4.1 from 6 November 2012 LOL runs perfectly, incl. aspec ratio - only Midi is missing.

By the latest version you mean v1.17.0.016 in the Zone? the Aminet one still has graphical glitches.

Still, no sense in committing time for playthrough, as the game is unbeatable with this build.

Lots of discussion here

Okay the version on Aminet is still the old one, it has version number 1.7.0.015b.

The one in the zone which has the fixed graphical issues in LOL is version 1.7.0.016, not sure why it's not on Aminet yet so I'll upload it again now.

The game logic bug that Aardvark has just raised was only fixed in version 2.1 and so I assume that it won't work properly in any prior version including my old 1.4 release. Unfortunately it's not possible for me to apply this game logic fix into my latest 1.7 release.

I'm sure there are other bugs too that were only fixed after version 1.7 so if you want the least bugs then run the latest version and suffer the slow downs

This 1.7 RTG is still the best version to run on a real Amiga RTG 060 with window mode support, international keyboard mapping and the ability to use WAV files for music.

That would be a shame indeed - LOL is a great RPG and the spiritual successor to Eye of the Beholder. To be on the safe side, I'll test Aardvark savegame with the 1.4.1 version. Anyway, thanks for your hard work novacoder - impressive effort.

You say it was fixed in 2.1

Then why can I not get past the barrier
in the PC version = 2.5.1

Right click character portrait while holding Vaelan's Cube. It does work even on ScummVM v1.7 on PC.

Anyway, it's now working for me with 1.7 so I'll upload a new version to Aminet with the fix soon.

I ran a few tests with your save game. Unfortunately, the savegame is not recognised at ScummVM 1.4.1, with 1.7.016, as already written, you can't get any further at this point - but with ScummVM 1.5, the portal opens and you can continue. Tests only carried out with the ports from novacoder.

Okay just uploaded the fixed version to the zone and to Aminet, 1.7.0.018.

You will need to use all of the archive folders (themes and extras) and also make sure the INI file is pointing to your install location. With this release I've moved the theme folders 'scummclassic' and 'scummmodern' to the root ScummVM folder so your INI file path must point to the correct location.

As a bonus you can now properly switch between themes using the Launcher.
