With Voodoo4 - K1 works propperly only if Voodoo4 was before K1.
If K1 was first or before Voodoo4, gearsppc stops or reboot my Ami randomly..after few seconds.
It is time to try my K1 with A1200 and Voodoo3 again when i get home=).
Thanks again.
Stepan

PS:What is interesting is that Voodoo3 (2000 and 3000) has very very HOT pasive coolers!!! It is not possible to touch it by hand. Active cooler is really necessary!=).
FYI on the cooling the package type of that chip sends all the heat into the PCB thats what all the solder balls in the middle of the chip are for
i have had to reball 1 of mine already and use bigger solder balls due to warping

NEXUS: Thank you FYI =)..I saw your post somewhere with photos=).

grelbfarlk: sandly, it definitely looks that problem with my A1200 and K1 PPC is VOODOO4!!

With Voodoo3 3000 K1 works at PCI6 !!! It is only getinfo and bogomips, but IT WORKS! No "PPCPCI not detected" anymore.
(It looks that no Workbench graphics errors, but programs like IdleWOS and GEARS not working and Voxelspace is without graphics=)..only ground line is there and 115FPS=D.., but it was very quick test only..before going to bed=) ).

But again..with Voodoo3 3K A1200 looks that it is ready for testing with K1!
Voodoo4 and K1 not working inside my A1200 and my A4000 has some problems with Voodoo4 too.
good night

I haven't been having luck with the Voodoo4 either in a tower. Need to switch things around again to test it in a Desktop.

Only for information:
I read somewhere about 256MB of RAM on Killer M1/K1.
I checked it yesterday and it is not true =). There are two HYB25D256160CF chips (on killer K1 CF-5..it is 200MHz(DDR400A) like on M1 I think).
Each of that is 256Mbit DDR SDRAM. 256Mbit = 32MB (megabyte). Both together= 64MB of RAM.
But I am littlebit interest about possibility of exchage/expand to somethink more =)..But it is question if it is possible(no schematic).

Hedeon: you are really The One!
Really thank you for your hard work and help for us.
Beer for you =)).

Stepan.

dont know where you read that its well known they are 64mb i just havent upgraded as i dont have any ddr2 big enough to get 128 or 256 yet
not top of my list so i havent bothered yet
and you dont need a schematic to swap ram
the cards are same only thing different is cpu clock speed and ofc the built in firmware M1 had more functionality
the pci-e variants have a slower cpu but 128mb ram but ofc that isnt supported here

Oh sorry I found it - it was on Czech web page and that guy made mistake.
He wrongly read 256Mb and thought that it is the same like 256MB and he began to talking about: "why we see 64MB only...there are two 256MB chips etc etc.."
I thought that it was here...sorry.. .
I wrote it here only for info..for no mistake about that. =)).

He wanted to know, if and when jenkins site will be online again?

https://sonnet.uguu.waw.pl/jenkins/job/sonnetamiga/

He wants to have the most recent libs i guess.

For example: I tested a Radeon with 2x128MB PCI space. First it sets up the 1x128MB, then fills the second 128MB of pci memory with small allocations (config etc) then again does one big allocation of 128MB.

That means only 128MB contiguous memory is left.

If it would do the first big allocation, then the second big allocation. then the small allocations, 128+64MB of contiguous memory is left.

Also allocation 128MB while 128MB PCI memory is left hangs the pci.library.

This will at least certain Radeon users give 192MB of PPC memory instead of 128MB.
pci.library 13.8 will no longer allocate the second (unused) 128MB of the Radeon card. This is only for 2x128MB radeons. 256MB Radeons still allocate one chunk of 256 MB.

This means that PPC cards that have 256MB (or more) can now use 256MB in combination with a Radeon (2x)128MB.

Thanks Elbox.

I know, double posting is evil - but three days apart so not that evil.

A stupid question I'm afraid. When setting variable for sonnet (as per the readme) is ENVARC:sonnet a file that I need to create, with an option per line eg:

OptionOne <Value>

Or is it like the mediator setup, where sonnet is a folder and each option is a file containing a value.

Apologies if this is stated somewhere obvious and I've completely missed it!

Ragnar

Hello every happy user Ragnarok.

I bought card that should/could be Ragnarok.

But, card doesn't work :-(

A have Amiga 4000 (desktop) with CS MK1 (060 and 64 MB fast ram) and Mediaror of course (5V).
On this config, SonnetCrescendo works perfect-> pci.library 13.6, powerpc.library (sonnet.library) rev 17.10 and 17.11.

Maybe, there is problem with power, but I have 2 PSU.
1. Oryginal 15W on 5V,
2. ATX with 18W on 5V, And I have about 4.98V on 1. and 5V on 2. when PSU power is on, and Amiga is working (voltage meter, checking on molex HDD from PSU).

When I run InitPPC firs time after power on Amiga, I have message: "PowerPC cpu not responding".

After rebooted Amiga, when I try again run InitPPC I have error mesage from Workbench:
"Software error: ramlib error: #80000004"

My Ragnarok is fail?

Can't say with this amount of info. The card needs 3.3V. Which carrier card/mediator do you have? What PMC card do you have? Type number? Maybe photo?

OK i saw the pics. You have different model than I and Jack-3D have.

I see connector on yours in the front - looks like some ethernet header.
